Anyone remember Point of No Return with Bridget Fonda as the lead? I'm not sure it was a particularly good movie and if the movie inspired the TV series or if the TV series inspired the movie. I reckon it was a book first anyway (La Femme Nikita). Regardless, it introduced me to Nina Simone.

Bat Out of Hell still one of my favorite records. Saw him in 78 at the old Arena. Great show.
Going to have to search out the old ticket stubs but I'm pretty sure that's the show I was at as well. I may have been at an earlier show though in support of Bat Out of Hell but at this point it's a little unclear. It was one of the first three live shows I ever saw and absolutely one of the first few albums I ever owned. I very clearly remember my mother asking me if I "even" understood what the words in "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" meant? I pretty much nailed it and she let it stand at that. You have to understand that I had no Kiss records because it stood for Knights in Satan's Service so that was a pretty darn big win for a kid.

Honestly based on his lifestyle, diet and the reality of rock n roll I'm surprised, but happy, he lived this long. Spent some time during the day listening to Meatloaf songs and while I couldn't pin down actual favorite songs as there are many I really, really enjoy I did come to the realization that I must have shared the same taste in woman that Mr. Loaf must have had. LOL. In reality it probably has more to do with the old Buggles maxim that video killed the radio star. So everyone in videos, except perhaps for the performer themselves (and I suspect we've reached a point where many brilliant talents go unsigned because of their looks or lack thereof) was beautiful anyway.

Karla Devito? Did she come before or after Pat Benatar? I dunno. But as a kid I had such a huge crush on her. That white outfit still gives me chills to this day. She was also in the original video for Paradise of course. Hat tip to Jim Steinman in the opening. But yes, it was Ellen Foley on the original album.

Speaking of Paradise by the Dashboard Lights there's this video where Meatloaf actually doesn't sound real good. 2007 or so. But Aspen Miller? Oh yeah and that Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit? Yes please. Probably doesn't hurt that she looks exactly like a girl I had a massive crush on in high school (friend zone hard).

Patti Russo? Ding, ding! Clear winner. But just wow. They performed together for a long time and there was very distinct chemistry going on.

And since Meatloaf and Jim Steinman must be tipping an ale somewhere together a few of my favorite Meatloaf or Steinman related songs... OK, the last one isn't a favorite, but maybe the Jets play it in the dressing room.

I can't believe how bad Meatloaf sounds in the second video but that girl sure can sing and walk .:naughty: Can't count how many times i danced to Paradise at socials , the vodka and bad orange juice played a hand in that:laugh: besides that's where all the girls were, the dance floor.:naughty:

Same show with Karla Devito. I may have the year wrong by one. But it was definitely the Bat Out of Hell tour. Cheers!

I know in past posts I have mused about the trope of any Latam Spanish woman involving a woman in any way (as singer or subject) as being full of the certifiable crazies, but this one really pushes it over the top.

The only things you really need to know is that the word "celos", which is repeated like a hundred times, means "jealous" -- "tengo celos" = "I get jealous".

And If that doesn't do it, then the chorus, hooooo boy:

Hoy, quiero bailar solo contigo
y hoy, quiero soñar que tu eres mío.
Hoy te daré todo mi amor en un abrazo
y tu prometerás,
que nunca más
me harás sentir
nunca más,
nunca más,
nunca más,
nunca celos!

"Today, I want to dance only with you,
and today, I want to dream that you are mine.
Today I will give you all my love in a hug,
and you will promise me,
that never again,
will you make me feel,
never again,
never again,
never again,
never jealous!"

Anyways, the singer (Fanny Lu) is drop-dead gorgeous and I don't quite think that's verboten yet, so I'll run with that, but boy oh boy, is the message terrifying!
