This is an insane trade. Can't believe the Habs traded a franchise figure like this. It's akin to Canucks trading the franchise player in Luongo, with the banners and everything having to come down the next day.

No argument here.

Can't understand why Montreal did this? I love Weber, but age gap doesn't make sense to me.

Pretty big slap in the face to PK as well, wonder if he can take back that 10 mil and give it to a Nashville Children's hospital?:naughty:

Please stop. Sick kids from Montreal didn't do this trade.

A team that is not competing now trades a 27 year old defenseman for a 30 year old one.
I can't see how this deal makes any sense from Montreal's point of view. I think the organization will look back at this as one of their worst trades since the lockout.
Bergevin has probably written his ticket out of town with this move.

So the foxhole buddies won after all. I'm not watching any hockey for a while

The guy made a 10M donation to the children hospital while a lot of players don't have the personality that fits the role of a super star in Montreal PK had it and now he's gone. If Weber was 25 yo it would have been good value, but he's 30

Monreal really expects weber to play until he's 40 and be effective after 35? LOL

That's what's confusing about this...

If Montreal was worried about Subban's NMC and being shackled with his contract, why trade for an older defenceman on a longer contract? All they did was cut a little over 1M per year in cap hit.
