Weber is better defensively, I like his point shot, and he's a great team player. Subban is definitely talented, but I think Montreal gets the better deal here.

Don't see how everyone thinks Nashville wins this. Other then age being a factor Weber is a much better defender then Subban.

Because Subban is just as much a capable #1 D on a Cup winning team as Weber while stilling having the benefit of age as he's just entering his prime as a Dman. He can play the D while having the vision to jump into the play to help create/sustain Nashville's possession in the offensive zone.

I'm not an expert on Montreal's roster but this seems like their management made a big trade for the sake of making a big trade to prove that they're not sitting on their ass doing nothing. Usually when fans want to see activity by their management, they mean activity that makes sense for the team, not simply for the sake of reminding people that you do in fact have a job, lol.

People saying "ITS SO BAD OMG" are insane. Yes Pk is a stud but so is Weber. The man is year in year out one of the best dmen in the national hockey league.

Not the same player anymore, even then he was never outright the best in any season he has played, but definitely was a perennial top-5 guy.

That said, PK is younger and brings more than a booming shot. He is the closest thing to Erik Karlsson.

I agree. And we paid all the front loaded costs.
Weber's not in decline and MTL will love him after all this wears off.

The management never liked him. What a joke. Bergevin is a joke. Therrien sucks. Weber is clearly past his peak.

Which trade is worse for the Canadian teams trading today? Despite the fact that Chia traded a sure fire top LW in Hall for the promise of an improving Larsson, I can't see how the Habs got better by trading for Weber?

PK-Josi :wow:

I mean... You don't have to love the PK trade, and I sure don't. But to suggest that it's as bad or even worse than Hall for Larsson? C'mon now...

One of the weirdest trades I've seen in a while involving big names. Not like the Hall/Larsson trade at all - this one is plain strange and until further details come out from media extracting tidbits, this remains a strange trade.
