Ott is a perfect bottom 6 player! Habs just became much tougher to play against.

Agree, and now our fourth line just got an upgrade that cost us nothing. Sure, we have added bottom guys in Benn, Davidson, and Ott, but these guys are still important, so I'm not complaining. Anytime you add a cheap vet who plays a physical game, you are preparing for playoff hockey.

Dumping Therrien, DD, and Pateryn's wife has been quite a bonanza for me. I'm all in for Ott!

No one cares
Ryan White would have also been a good player under Julien. I dont mind guys like White,Ott and Shaw, they are what a 3rd-4th liner should be but I am old school. Notice how Shaw is playing since Julien took over?

Meh for a 6th rounder he add some grit and can be a decent agitator on the 4th line. He makes is tougher than a Flynn Mitchell or Ghetto. But from what I've seen, he's been hot garbage after the faceoff this year and essentially cannot get out of his zone. Julien will need to severely limit his minutes. Then again, he has experience with this type of 4th line and has had success with it (Campbell-Thornton-Paille).

He is better than Than DD, so I'm not complaining. Sure, he doesn't score goals, but you have to ask yourself, who would you rather have centering the 4th line- Ott or McCaron? (If we still have MCacaron.)

Ott.

McCaron should have never been a center. The guy was a potential threat on the right wing and they developed in him as a cuddly bear instead. It's sickening.

Assets:
Gets by on hard work and dogged determination. Excels at throwing opponents off their game with shift-disturbing precision. Can kill penalties, take face-offs and line up at all three forward positions.

Flaws:
Can go overboard with his antics and questionable hits, which leads to bad penalties from time to time. Doesn't have great size, so he wears down physically over the long haul and is prone to getting injured.

Bergevin, the master at decimating his draft selections.

I posed this on the Benn thread.

Take a look at Timmins 6th round selections and get back to us and report on the true value of his 6th round picks.

Took a quick look at ALL NHL, not just Timmins.

Historically, I would say you have a 1/45 chance of getting an eventual NHLer in the 6th round. It really is nothing.

Ott could maybe be useful, if not, sit him.

Oh man, that never gets old! Great post for 10 plus pages in!

Some people will never be content with any move Bergevin does. I'm pretty sure if Crosby was traded to Montreal for a 1st someone would say "why trade for a injury prone player".

"why trade a first round pick??? They still cant beat the Caps so what's the point! Fire MB and ridiculte him until the cows come home!"

Why is Bergevin trading for players? The draft is just a couple of month away. How does he intend to draft my favorites 17 years olds?

The flip side of that coin is the hysterical reactionary cannibalism here when a player is slumping.

Trade Price, trade Galchenyuk, trade Gallagher, trade Pacioretty, trade Radulov, trade Markov, ad nauseam.

One thing you can be sure of around here is plenty of emotion. Not all of it is related to good sense.

How many whiners do we have here? The olayoffs are comming guys.... have you ever notice that 4th line players, experience and spe ial units players all ave their value?

With that trade, i feel that Gallagher will be offered to several teams today. I knew that day would happen one day. I feel that now is the moment. With Beauieu, he can bring a good player here.

Even if a part of me can't help but hope this is unforgivable if he's our only move, I like the fact he brings some grit on the 4th line. Flynn's Andrighetto's and Desharnais's don't belong on a 4th line.
