He's good at faceoffs and better than what we currently have on the 4th line. I don't love or hate the trade. Meh.

Thought Bergevin learned how to GM by trading DD away, but nope, he goes and gets Ott.

Exactly the price I expected it to cost.

Not a big deal. Experience/leadership/grit for the bottom six, classic deadline day move. Won't preclude us from making a bigger trade. Hope tomorrow brings a bigger fish for sure though.

Agreed. It's a depth move and he's good at face offs. Cost to acquire vs potential pay back is actually pretty good!

Ott is a decent player for the playoffs. Still a typical Bergy move. Guy stockpiles 7/8 dmen and 11,12 forwards like no other.

Good point, Muller and CJ both wold have wants, and ideas to help this team...we are soft as butter in July, most nights...

You're right, but getting Ott doesn't really change that. It does help...a bit. The team overall needs to get bigger and nastier.

The team has trouble winning faceoffs and the 4th line is soft. This is a decent deal.

Who is unrestricted at the end of the year. Nice thing for the habs is they don't need your approval to aquire players they feel will help them.

You know the expression "throw enough poop at the wall and some of it will stick?"

Well this sure is one big piece of poop.

If he wins one extra faceoff we come out ahead.

Such frikkin drama over a player who costs almost nothing.

Chances are we plat the Rangers or Jackets in the first round. Ott is an insurance policy against the likes of Hartnell or Kreider messing with Carey Price... We also play Ottawa 3 times in March so keeps Neil and Burrows in check as well.

Decent depth move

4th liner with grit and good at faceoff... I don't mind Ott.

Also, with Therrien and Desharnais gone one would think this board would get less whiny. Who am I kidding?
