Having a sex offender on your team must be great for the moral.
Habs and Hockey Canada has some work to do
Be careful of what you are saying. It is not a crime to get a blow job and it’s not a crime to get a photo of it either. Even if you send that photo to someone it is not a crime. But stupid yes. But last time I checked it is not a crime to be stupid either…

It's been 5 months since Hughes said they had no intention of negotiating a contract until they have evaluated him as a person.

That was quite the nice fluff piece the Athletic released back in March.
Ironically that is probably the worst term you could have used. It has another meaning

It's a sex crime. Information was out way before conviction.
Prosecutor stated that they would seek prison time if he was older and the interpretation of the law has now changed so that youth will be convicted the same as adults for serious crimes.

They opted to not go for community service in addition to the crime.

Official info from BRÅ, your example with the dog would be put in a different category of the crime "offensive fotography"
There are three types, the most common one is a sex crime. you can read about them here:

Paper from Lunds university:

So where does it say he's a sex offender? Should be easy to find the article saying such considering how much you're spewing or perhaps you just have no idea what you're talking about.

Are you asking for an article that says he's a sex offender? Ok, here you have Sweden's largest newspaper: "Sex offender signs NHL deal"

No, it is not. No matter how many times you read evening news papers that say it is, it simply is not. You're making me sound like a broken record here. He was convicted of offensive photography and defamation, none of which are sex crimes.

The prosecutor stated that if he was older it COULD be a matter of prison time.

Offensive photography is NOT the same as picture based sexual assault. Which your fancy links actually tell if you'd bother to read them.

Drafting him in the 1st round and signing him to near the ELC max the very next off-season.

Way to hold him accountable. That'll teach him.

If this is technically sexual assault then okay, but I feel like it would be helpful to have a separate descriptor for what Maillioux did.

Lumping all sexual crimes together seems inappropriate.
It's not sexual assault, not even close.

You could argue sexual harassment, but even that is stretching it.

If they didn't sign him by the spring they would have lost his rights

You clearly havdn't read them then other than one headline and then pulled an interpretation out of your ass. They are both about photographing lntimiate/private moments without consent.

"Image-based sexual abuse includes all forms of creation and / or distribution of private, sexual images without the consent of the person depicted. Examples of such abuse is “revenge porn”, stealth photography, upskirting and threats to distribute private, sexual images. "

Maybe you should just accept being wrong. Montreal just signed a convicted sex offender. It's not against the law to do so, it just represents the values of the organization and its fans that accept it.

He committed a crime...but not a "ruin your life forever crime". He's been punished. Let the kid get on with his life. I sincerely hope he's learned his lesson. To say that the leash is short, is a gross over exaggeration. There is no leash.
It's been less than 1 year.
And he would have been sent back to juniors. They could have waited until end of season/early spring before making a decision.

Man, if you say so, it must be true.

ITT people who know nothing of what the org has done with Logan, that he has been consistently meeting with a therapist, that he met with sheldon kennedy, that he helped sheldon with the teams session on consent with the younger prospects. That Sheldon Kennedy spoke positively about Logan and his Journey, that he's spent time with the team for the last summer and up until now and then they made this decision.

Stay strong you keyboard warriors
and Habs fanboy's crusading in defense of the Habs honor because they can't read a critical post about their team/prospect without compulsively responding to it.

If this was any other team most of the habs fans would here would be mocking it instead of weepily defending the guy like he's a victim because random HF posters are not nice.

Interesting how Mailloux was charged with a crime for doing exactly that 🤔

Maybe it is a crime afterall

The offense took place almost two years ago, he was charged a year and half ago was drafted over a year ago.

I wouldn't have signed or drafted him, but the reaction here is pretty out of line considering the steps he has taken since being drafted and all the other hockey culture issues that have been brought to light.

You're right. I had 2022 down as a draft year for some reason. It's been well over a year so ignore the previous message. Apparently time goes quickly...

Honestly Him being drafted and signed now its just the norm for Hockey & NHL

Just look at what happens in Hockey at all level, the shit the came out about Hockey Canada, Kyle Beach & the black hawks and god know what else they cover up

Hockey is run by old men who dont give a shit about sexual abuse or anything like that as long as they keep making $$$$

Careful with the virtue signalling...and hab hating and generalizing much? you could apply these comments to literally every other fanbase on here.
Mailloux isn't a victim by any means, but I'd be curious about the temperature of the outrage if he wasn't a Hab

Comparing what Mailloux has done to Kyle Beach's rape and the Blackhawks coverup?

If you've ever had a parking ticket shall we compare you with Charles Manson?

I've read them. Both. More than once. I don't know how I can make this any clearer to you. Offensive photography and image-based sexual abuse is NOT the same crime. THEY ARE DIFFERENT. Logan was convicted of the former; OFFENSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY. If the prosecutor though he'd be able to charge Logan with SA, I'm very sure he would have.

Except there was no sexual abuse in Logan Mailloux's case...
