Dach (21 year old #3OA) and Debrincat (24 year old two time 40 goal scorer) for #7 and #13 in a draft so weak the consensus #1 fell to #4.

I don’t think Rangers fans would move Kakko for #13 and he’s arguably done less than Dach, or at least it’s a toss up and Dach is a center.

I think Chicago is trying to force Toews and Kane to want out, waive all clauses, etc. I just don’t know why they went out and got Jones last year.

and Dach may be what he was projected to be under MSL, while Wright is an avg 2-way 2C

Time will tell. No sense in predicting this early in their careers. But the fact they they got Slafkovsky AND their future 2C and only gave up Romanov + a few picks.... thats an A in my book.

Dach's ceiling is way higher than anyone available at 13, maybe even in the entire draft! He's had a serious injury, and a rough year following that injury, on a mediocre team as well, so to be honest, I am really thrilled by this trade.

If the Habs are not happy with Wright because of compete level then they could have picked Cooley. They overpay for Dach to show they have a Center. A center line of Suzuki/Dach/Dvorak/Evans is weak + we lost Romanov. Tonight is just a nightmare for me.

If Kirby Dach turns into a 2nd line center, this is a good deal. It’s hard to say whether I like the deal or not. It’s a gamble.

You are essentially betting Romanov’s ceiling against Dach’s. Who’s do you think is higher?

If you want to put Dach’s value against guys they could’ve gotten at #13, that’s a whole other argument. I will say you could definitely debate Nazar, Lekkerimaki, etc being potentially more valuable than Dach.
