Hawks are stupid to trade Each especially when they're rebuilding. They didn't learn from the Trainerovao trade?

Am almost positive hawks are gonna be in the bedard sweepstakes with a very high probability.

I think hawks may ask patty kane to waive and then trade him as well for a rebuild

Romanov + 98th + 66th for Dach, it's not that much but I don't think if it's the right move. I also don't know much about Dach.
"I don't know much about the guy, but I feel that like they didn't go up too much"

LOL WHAT

if you don't know much about him, how can you assess his value? Smh

It's not much from the habs side...how do you not connect the dots on that.

Those picks were expendable, we went into this draft with 14 picks and 10 in the first 3 rounds.

Losing Romanov hurts but we traded from a position of strength.

A 13th overall pick isn't exactly what I'd call "not much" but to each their own

I disagree. id rather have a future core of

Suzuki-Caufield
Dach-Slafkovsky
Guhle-Barron

than

Suzuki-Caufield
Wright
Romanov-Guhle
Barron

Except it coudl have been

Suzuki-Caufield
Nazar - Slafkovsky

Mark my words - Nazar will be an elite player

The 13th wouldn't be there without Romanov...it was essentially a 3-way trade.

Most likely, Habs went to Chicago and offered Romanov and Chicago said no. Habs went and got a mid-round pick instead.

Could have traded Romanov for the 13th then kept it...just sayin'

My guess is the habs likely wanted a center that could step in right away which is why they went for Dach over an 18yo pick that would take a few years to play in the NHL.

I'm not saying I love the trade at all, I'm just saying I understand it. I would have kept Romanov but again, time will tell if the habs won or lost this trade.

I really don't get this from a Chicago POV. "Power Forwards" usually take longer to reach their peak level

Great move from Montreal imo. Picks can be such dice rolls, especially outside of the top 10. It seems Chicago was intent on moving him
