Yes that’s a common thing. You are at least right about one thing.

You miss his point though, both Suzuki and Caufield dont benefit as much from Dach as Dach is benefitting from them.

So basically we have wasted each others time because you failed to understand that and now I know there is at least one person who is not fully convinced Kurri belongs in the HHOF.
I think your missing the point. The Habs benefit the most from Dach fitting in perfectly with Suzuki and Caufield.

I see comments here like he has to quit being cute with the puck and shoot more. Well, that was the rub in Chicago and probably a big reason why he was dealt. I know people like to get premature on excitement but let's see how he pans out in a year or 2. 4 goals is on par for him for this point of the season per historical. I would not expect that to all the sudden increase.
Well he is playing on a line with a scorer. As long as he can keep feeding him we're quite happy.

Right. Joe Thornton was a big center who only reached or surpassed 25 goals 4 times...He was quite effective passing the puck, etc.

One of the most dynamic passers ever is being used as example that it’s not necessary to score goals.

Its a wasted 1st round pick. Should have used it for the draft.
Evgeny Kuznetsov only scored over 25 once He carved a nice career on being a set up man.
Dach is looking like a brilliant move on the Habs part. Tell us the player your would have picked over Dach at the draft with that 1st rd pick?

I already did.

You act like Dach already had a great career on being a set up man and that people still criticize him.

Dach is a marginal player who can make a great pass so now and than and is getting 1st line minutes for lack of better.

He’s not exactly Joe Thornton but it’s not fair to call the 21 year old a marginal player being fed 1st line minutes for lack of better. He’s still a young player with upside and is looking like a decent top 6 winger

19 pts in 26 games and 14 in his last 17 games sure screams marginal.

Did i call him Joe Thornton??? i simply raised the stats of a center who was not a primary scorer. Jesus! Even Joe Thornton wasn't Joe Thornton until he became Joe Thornton!

Exactly that outcome of points in combination with his skill, line mates and lack of scoring ability is what we are talking about.

If you just want to come up with his stat sheet, you could have done that earlier and we all agreed on the fact that Dach is closing the gap in assists with Adam Oates.

I mean going by what your saying Evgeny Kuznetsov was also just a marginal player .
Wait i guess all players that don't score a lot are marginal player....right.:laugh::laugh:

Don’t disagree with your statements but personally I wanted Byram or Cozens.

We did. But he looks more comfortable on the wing right now and he’s got chemistry with Suzuki and Caufield. Young players convert all the time.
So the plan is Dach will fall into the 2C whenever he’s able to?

Is Dach not a centre? Thought Habs got him to play centre?

Dach is not an NHL center

It is major reason Hawks moved on from him because its pretty clear he will never be capable C in NHL

He is atrocious at C

Dach finding success on wing in MTL is good for him and Habs

As Hawk fan I am excited to see how Nazar and Hayes pan out. I like the potential of Nazar and its unfortunate he got injured

So why did the Habs pay so much to get him? Didn’t they give up a star young D (Romanov) to get the first rounder to acquire Dach?

Dach is a top 6 forward producing top6 offense or better on a low salary. Period.

Then watch the game tonight, he'll center Slafkovsky and Hoffman, the jury's still out whether he's a C. I hope the trade can work for both teams, for Dach to establish himself as a top line player and for Nazar to recover from his injury and fulfill his potential.
