Habs are no where close to being a consistent PO team until they develop their young Dcore, And that's assuming that they will develop.

Habs don't need more F, they need to figure out their blueline first. Forward help, they can figure that out later as they have Suzuki and Caulfield who are legit, Slaf with a very good 2nd year. Dach needs to show he can stay healthy. Newhook needs to get better and maybe any of Beck, Kidney, Kapenen, Mesar, etc can be that to 6 F that you are looking for.

Because the Canes are short of RHD at both the NHL and prospect level (Burns, Chatty, Walker, Morrow, Badinka, Heimosalmi, Legault) and desperately need a 3C to fill the opening not filled by any of Staal, Drury, Kotkaniemi, or Kuznetsov?

We're so short on money for Necas because we gave it to...not Guentzel and we have plenty to keep Jarvis and Necas in the fold.

This is a clown proposal that doesn't even try to address needs for Carolina.

Beck, Mailloux and Roy are not scrubs lol...all three will be with the big club full time soon enough.

That's a lot of assets to give for one winger, not even including the 1st rd pick. Canes can keep their guy we're good

I'm a huge Svechnikov fan, he is by far the best piece in this trade, but neither clubs do this.

Habs just aren't there yet. They are still rebuilding and barring a miracle they will pick in the top 10 again this year. As good as Svech is, he won't change that by himself.

And on top of that, Carolina are trying to win now, why would they trade away one of their best player on a good contract for futures ?

Just doesn't make sense IMO

Also, Svech is 3/8 years into his max term deal. What will Montreal accomplish on his remaining 5 years given their current blue line and goaltending?
