Well, you can use attractiveness if you want, but that's not what I'd do.

The goal here is to determine how well a goaltender played. Obviously, other people's opinions are full of problems, so that's out.

Save Percentage? It does a very poor job of measuring goalie performance. All it does is tell you how many goals were scored per number of shots, which obviously is about a lot more than the goaltender...

Knowledgeable hockey people never use Save Percentage (in the same way that most fans do).

You can never just look at stats and determine how well goaltenders played.

I don't really get where you're coming from.

1986 is a long time ago, and a lot of posters here simply aren't old enough to have watched it live. And for those who are - many possibly don't remember that run closely enough. Reading up on opinions of his run at the time, by other players, coaches, media - is actually a very worthwhile source.

Also - I agree that sv% isn't the end all be all and without fail - but dismissing it as pointless is an even worst take. It can be misleading at times because of shot totals, or high danger shots etc - but overall it's still a good measure.

What else are you going to judge Roy's run by?
