Confirmed Signing with Link: [MTL] Alex Radulov (1 year, $5.750M AAV)

It was lovely when his team was playing Jokerit, everyone loves to boo and hiss at him. If he is in good form, he is an amazing pickup, a top 20 forward.

He left a few 2 year contact offers on the table and had several teams in pursuit of him...he wanted MTL specifically.

If the year goes well and he likes it, he could re-sign.

How much $$$ for the 2 year deals?

Montreal is a good market for russians it would be cool if he has a good year and sign long term

They should have kept Subban... 2 exciting players to watch

I feel like the off-ice issues are overblown. I think he'll be a good contributor and possibly even a bargain for one season. It just makes the Subban trade look worse though but asides from that, it's not a bad gamble. Not like they were a playoff team and having him come in would upset the balance of the room or something, they have nothing to lose standings wise.

He's saying no one gives a **** about the Weber/Radulov aspect of the Preds vs Habs.

Subban is the main point of focus because he'd the biggest player and by far the most exciting one in all this. Which is true.

Radulov is every bit as exciting player as Subban...

At the end of the day Radulov is a "what could have been" player for Preds fans, who a lot of Preds fans don't particularity like for that reason(feel screwed)..

It will be about Radulov first game back in Nashville...

That's probably the exact reason.

1st line guaranteed practicly, Habs fan NEED top6 player so, inb cas he does well, we could probably extend him for same cap/similar cap LT with Desharnais leaving and Emelin also probably leaving

AND, radulov is on a 1 year contract. Expansion draft is coming also which could be a reason why Habs wanted him on a 1 year deal AND explained that to him. Vegas wouldnt prob claim him knowing theyd need to resign him, which kind of give Habs one spot more in their protection list

Patch-Plek-Galch-Gallagher-Danault-Shaw-???-Beaulieu-Petry-Weber
Radulov on the 1 year deal kind of makes him unavailable for Vegas. Genious idea

Interesting post. It also allows MTL to find out for themselves how different of an individual he has really become without exposing themselves too deep. It didn't hurt having so many Russians on the team.

They didn't release that info...Bergevin said he was strict on the term though and he decided 1 year was enough and Radulov agreed to it.

So that's a positive.

So how much is Radulov gonna want for his next contract, assuming he scores mass goals?

Be no reason then to not pay him ....5 - 6 years x name the price.

Radulov wants QUEBEC..

Therrien won't be around forever....(In my opinion)His old junior coach Roy ,will be his next coach in Montreal..lol

It makes perfect sense. You shipped out a guy with issues for pennies on the dollar then bring in this guy. Sheds light on the issue of race with Subban and Montreal IMO

I agree that race played a big role in the whole Subban ordeal, but I think my point still stands. Comparing a 1-year contract to whatever was left on PK's, and the incoming NMC, makes no sense.

I agree, best forward in KHL for last two seasons. Competes and plays with passion, wants to win badly.

Last year at this point I said A.Panarin will be a factor in the NHL.I can go with the same line with Radulov.I have seen enough to believe.

Most of all, he's been a team player for the ZSKA all the way. Not the same guy you saw in the Preds jersey. #Radulov

Radulov is a good one for the #Habs I've seen him playing past years in KHL and I can assure,he's been the best all around F in the league.
...........

Radulov doesn't have an "off-ice" "on-ice" Jekyll and Hyde dichotomy. He's just a difficult guy to deal with period because he's got screws loose.

The Canadiens are the second biggest joke of a franchise in the NHL. God I love to watch them crash and burn like this. Only Edm is worse

Yet the team filled its biggest void by signing the most talented free agent out there.

Big joke
