Petterson too low
Boqvist too high
Kotkaniemi should be higher (altho I could be biased)
Mete might not have the most potential but hes alot more proven.
Necas too high.
The rest of the 2017 draft seems very randomly placed. Vesailenen, Chytil, Timmins over players like Glass and Zadina is odd, esp considering Zadina heavily outplayed Chytil in the U20 WJC.

Also I heavily dislkke Foote for his lack of offensive potential and hes 25 ranked ahead of much better prospects.
Chytil outplayed Zadina for the rest of the year though and is almost the same age.

Trying to be objective, the most notable and criminal absences on the top 50 are IMO, Niku, Andersson, and Liljegren.

All three have a better shot to be NHL'ers than a number of players on that list and too little weight is being placed in the AHL for defenseman that have showed good productivity for their age group.

While I don't disagree that scoring rates are more transferable between other pro leagues, my opinion is that is puts more weight on forwards vs D-men.....and IMO some of the numbers I've seen are skewed historically in the sense that more weight should be placed on the AHL, particularly for defenseman, based on recency (developmental powerhouses- see Tampa using it as a more viable feeder system.........decline of KHL, SHL in last several years....and because the "small ice surface" argument for defenseman is absolutely a real thing.

That, and the notable Habs bias for one guy I wouldn't even put in my top 100 (Juulsen), if considered a prospect.......and another guy I don't see much potential in at all (Mete). Poehling and Kotkaniemi are fine, however. Was high on both in their draft years (Kotk is pushing the peak his stock though, relative to draft position).

Its harsh to not put a former 25th overall that is tracking really well outside of your top 100.

Great list except I would include Rasmus Anderson in the top 50. Valimaki is ranked appropriately and Anderson is pretty even with him.

Both are similar, considering Poehling was ranked ahead, drafted ahead and had has strong a year I have a hard time not going with Poehling, but they are similar players.

Poehling had a strong year, but Frost had a stronger one. This decision screams Montreal bias. Secondly, Kyrou shouldn't be above Frost. They had similar years, except Frost is an entire year younger and was a much better even strength player. But you can believe whatever you want lmao
