And your second sentence backs up my statement. Not all trades are what fans deem fair value. Some are outright ripoffs. Some are close. Its hard to say universals.

It doesn't prove that Sakic is going to be ripped off.

You're presuming that Sakic is a bad GM and will get poor value when in reality, the only bad value he's gotten was for a couple of 2nd rounders.

He got phenomenal value for ROR, but sure let's ignore that.

I seriously laughed at this.

Laughing more that everyone is correcting you

My co-workers probably think I'm do some pre-long weekend drinking right now (I'm not) because I am laughing far too much.

I'm not presuming anything other than "player x is worth blah blah blah, no way (insert random GM) does that deal" type statements have been proven wrong. If you want to take that and plug Sakic's name somewhere in there, that's on you, not me.

But now two GMs have been made basically the same trade. Sorry, but you can't arbitrarily exempt your team from market valuations just because you don't want to pay the same price.

Sorry. ..those 2 aren't even remotely close to being the same trade. Adam Larsson is a very very good defenseman. Martin Erat was a middle 6 player at best.

The Avs don't have to trade. They're not dealing from a position of weakness. As far as what value they'd return, Sakic has yet to receive poor value in a player for player trade, so I think I'll trust him here.

I'm curious to hear how Johansen for Jones and Hall for Larsson is substantially different.

I'll wait.

I don't think he meant the Erat trade. I think he meant that Hall for Larsson is very similar in value to Johanssen for Jones. And he would be right. Hall just had a (in Chiarelli's words) sexier reputation.

Yeah, but if your leg grows too much, you'll have one leg longer than the other. Then you'll just be limping around in a circle all day...

I mean the leg has potential to get more muscle, not longer lol. Besides, 1 leg longer than the other is better than being in a wheelchair with 1 leg.

Rnh for Barrie? The Oilers offence will go from top of the leaugue (on paper) to the bottom

Barrie scores 50 on the Avs and could probably score 60 on a PP that features McDavid. What's RNH going to score, 68? Would be a great trade for Oilers.
