Why would Colorado move Barrie for RNH? They just drafted another center in Jost. If anything, they wanna move Barrie for another D

Rnh for Barrie? The Oilers offence will go from top of the leaugue (on paper) to the bottom

On paper is the key point. Our forwards always have trouble creating things because we lack a player like Barrie. Forever the Oilers have looked good on paper with forwards, but the team as a whole simply didn't work. It's all individual efforts from the high end guys and everyone else is struggling to get out of their own zone with our garbage D.

Barrie scores 50 on the Avs and could probably score 60 on a PP that features McDavid. What's RNH going to score, 68? Would be a great trade for Oilers.

Yakupov, Pulujujarvi (a rookie), Pouliot and Maroon in the top 6? Hard to not call that Awfull

Edmonton was 26th in the league in GF while Colorado was 20th. What makes you think Barrie will score more on an Oilers team with no Hall?

Because we were lacking a puck moving dman to get the puck up the ice. Barrie would solve that problem.

Yeah, I would think since they tried to re-sign him, they are looking for defense if they are trading him. Maybe the Landeskog thing is them trying to sweeten the deal and go after someone much better than Barrie

"Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene have both been linked in trade rumblings over the last year, and one or the other could be used as a chip to help bring back that blueliner."

******** TSN *******s

Landeskog was never linked to trade rumblings at all, Duchene was but mostly from unreliable sources.

Now, instead of insane underpayments for Duchene we have to deal with the typical trades for Landeskog too.

It's already begun with the classic quantity of crap from the Islanders for a top power forward.

Ducks won't move Lindholm, but that should give an idea of what the Avs want for Landeskog.

I wish. I wanted to cry when I read reports of Landy being moved but if it's for Lindholm I'll drive him to the airport myself and I live in Canada.

I saw the first tweet and reached for the bottle. Second tweet was very comforting.

After all the rumblings of Sakic not wanting to goto arbitration with Barrie. After the Roy comments on Barrie. Then you have all these rumours. How could anyone not beleive that Barrie could be on the block???

If the PK situation and Larsson situation has taught us anything. If there's smoke there's usually a fire.

You don't see random smoke about guys like Eric Karlson or Victor Hedman or the other 500 players in the league. Yet when there's real smoke about a player twice this week and they both get traded people still doubt **** could happen???! Ridiculous.

Ok maybe not Pulju but he's still an 18 year old rookie

what about Eberle?

McDavid, Puljujarvi, Draisiatl, Eberle, Pouliot and posibly Lucic would still be top 6 if RNH gets traded.
Leaves Maroon, Kassian, Caggiula and plenty others for lower lines

um Sakic said he would take Barrie to arbitration is needed.

If he was willing to go to arbitration he'd have been signed already.

Offensive first players like Barrie get paid hard by 3rd parties that don't watch the sport and are simply presented boxcar stats w/ contract examples. He'll be compared to players like Weber, Suter, Burns, Letang, Doughty, Giordano, Subban etc.

He isn't as good a player as those guys, but his boxcar's look nearly identical.

The Av's would lose at arbitration quite hard.

Congratulations, you listed several UFA contracts which are not even eligible to be presented in arbitration, and others who can point to Norris trophies or Norris trophy nominations. Barrie's comparables will be guys like Krug. Did you know more stats exist than just points? I don't even know what your first sentence is supposed to mean.
