If this was even 6 yrs ago we would have .gifs of Grieg's head exploding, or Rielly attacking with a sword.
I hope after my old man nap there are a few good memes at least lol

Title is incorrect. In person hearing doesn't guarantee a 5+ game suspension. It's a necessary condition for 5+ games, not sufficient.
True, but how often does a player talk his way out of 5 with an in person hearing? I honestly don't know the answer but it feels like historically it's been pretty automatic.

They probably want to wait to see if Greig has any concussion symptoms or other injuries before scheduling the hearing. If he does, will Rielly play again this year?

You can do 5 games both in phone and in person. In person usually means 6 plus

6 games plus was obvious for anybody who did 15 minutes of googling to familiarize themselves with the player safety criteria and recent precedent.

People saying fine or 1 game kept using examples of suspensions related to hockey plays. That is the major distinction here.

that’s great man, really happy for you guys.

While I watch the playoffs yet again, you can watch replays of 2017 and Greig blowing his load because he scored an empty net goal against Toronto. I doubt you’d see any non-Mickey Mouse team acting that way over a regular season game, but like I said, really happy that you Ottawa fans have at least something to cheer about this year lol.

Yeah, it's not exactly the flex they think it is.

While true, it's probably just verbiage for the DoPS to cover their asses, even if it usually results in 5+ game suspensions every time.

I can't imagine the NHL would be fine putting a hard minimum on games suspended verbiage whether it was in-person or not.

People don’t remember this from 30 years ago just like the code which doesn’t exist.
There are written articles on “the code” you can read up for all sports including hockey. In addition, if you have ever spoke to current or ex professional players they can attest to it.

I am not here to convince you. It’s up to you to make up your mind if you are willing to read up on it.
