So lying by omission/deception? Sure you see slapshots into empty nets, when there's traffic by skaters to get it through or when a player is down the ice.

But not on breakways 3 feet out with nobody around...it's stupid that it has to be said that it doesn't and you're really trying to argue for it being a thing.

Im not arguing whether it should garner a reaction like Reilly's, simply saying it will in beer league or other levels.

I've seen it on breakaways.

I wouldn't give a shit. Would you go attack someone or just forget about it and go home to your gf and kids or whatever and not even think about it for a second.

Instead Rielly is likely looking at a multi game suspension and 6 figure forfeit of salary.

Talk about mentally weak.

These suspensions cost the players serious money. If the league goes six for Reilly that is a big chunk of cash. The rest of the players will definitely take notice. Plus, it will send the message that attacking a guys head with your stick well after the play will cost serious time and money.
Hope so!

I love hits and violence but I hate the headshots. That is my one sticking point.

Leafs are also in a playoff battle and losing Rielly would hurt them as he's quite good!

43 points in 50 games and plays 24 a night. That is damn impressive! Hard to replace.

Exactly, why the hate for Ridley?

That is exactly one of the problems that I see and hear about Hockey Culture.

He took a slapper into an EN after a hard fought game amongst adult professionals teammates and opponents are all Brothers from the same Union...

Unfortunately, at least one Adult on the Maple Leafs roster is such a Fragile human being, Morgan abandoned all sense of reasoning, goes beyond being a sore loser which is unsportsmanlike in and of itself, does not have any sense of how to settle himself. He then intentionally skates over to an unsuspecting Union Brother after the whistle is blown and the play is long over and dead. Proceeds to take a weapon which is designed to have thick carbon fibre layers for increased durability in two hands and proceeds to crosscheck his Union Brothers in the shoulder/head area, ultimately making either indirect or direct contact with the head.

All because Ridley and the Senators outplayed and worked hard than Morgan and the Maple Leafs...

In addition to a 15+ game suspension; Morgan should be sentenced to see a sports psychologist for anger management and strategies to utilize for treating his Union Brothers with dignity and respect for the remainder of his playing career.
Yep, what Morgan wasn't to defend his team or some stupid unwritten code. The long shot shows that he stopped skating and was gliding in and put no sense of urgency into Greig. Greig took the opportunity and the rest is history. Morgan figured "I really crapped the bed here, so I better do something". It was completely selfish and could very well cost the team his services at an important time for them.

Please Understand
In person? Goddamn. Didn't even expect a game. Thanks for proving me wrong, Parros.

Also, I have to be pedantic about the edit. The only thing an in-person hearing does is allow this suspension to be greater than five games. There's still the potential for it to be less than five games.

At least he can forecheck. Can Reaves even skate?

Was hilarious seeing Tkachuk talking about how Reaves is useless and seeing Reaves get extra upset lol.

Reaves should be in the ECHL. Isn't he like a -1 for every few minutes of ice time lol.
"Intangibles". Justify it however you want, Kastelic is every bit a plug as Reaves is.

Kastelic just doesn't want any part of Reaves. Not surprising since he usually gets beaten up by fighters unless he's scrapping guys like Tony DeAngelo.

You can say he was over exuberant on that empty netter, but nobody can truly understand what it means to seal a victory and move out of dead last in the conference. It's a big moment for those guys.
