Yup. Dillion from the Jets received 3 games for mistiming a hit where the opposing player entered the o zone with his head down, and sticking his neck and head straight out like an ostrich. It was a hockey play gone wrong, and happened in a split second. Argument was Dillion hit nothing but head. Same exact thing can be said here, nothing but head. Difference is it was well after the play and the play was blown dead, on an unsuspecting player, at the end of a game.
Yup. Zadorov just got two games for a hit gone wrong. What Reilly did was predatory and a lot worse. Very curious to see what the league does. It should be six (like what Perron got) but could be less, which would be expected from the league’s lack of consistency in these matters.

People don’t remember this from 30 years ago just like the code which doesn’t exist.

My mind immediately went to the 70's when its actually 1994.

This just further proved how soft as baby shit the Maple Leafs are. All they had in their tool box was to take a cheap shot.

Lets be honest, a first round exit, if they even make it, is basically guaranteed.

What an awful brand of non playoff hockey they play. Led by arguably the softest core of superstar forwards ever assembled. Meanwhile their tough guy is a buyout candidate that shouldn't even be in the league anymore. Just makes them look that much worse needing a babysitter that can't stay on the ice.

To be fair, you'd know all about that.

Grzelyck suspension incoming - 3 pages.

Rielly suspension incoming - 90 pages.

Why do the media continually put the Leafs on our TV screens and on their platforms?

That's kind of sad.

You're smiling because your player did something incredibly cowardly and dangerous in a game where your team lost to a total also-ran.
I’m smiling because a leafs player showed passion. He showed it stupidly but at least he was passionate.

Kinda like Ridley. He chose to be a dick.

Im not saying he deserves to be injured however the league needs more of this intensity/hatred/fights otherwise theyre gonna keep losing fans.

What makes hockey unique has always been the intensity, chippyness and fights. The figure skating/cardio sport its turning into is awful

and what lesson is that?
That the leafs are an emotionally fragile team and it’s super easy to get under their skin?
He already knew that.
more like showboat and you're going to get hit, how, where and when, well who knows

That is fair. Our franchises have equally accomplished diddly squat. But that's largely because of an owner that's gone now. Lets see how the next 10 years go.
But it's not equally "diddly squat". Missing the playoffs for a million years in a row and still being a bottom 5 team is still worse than making the playoffs but always getting out early.
