Whatever.
He is right tho.......
Seriously? Modesty? You ever see Marner and some of the Leafs goal celebrations?
Far from modest. Don't see the other team crosschecking them from behind each time.
Ridiculous
I would agree if they celebrated like crazy on a 6-1 goal, but they don't. Usually, they are pretty chill when it comes to that

People will say its "unsportsmanlike", similar to how you can't party too much in the endzone in the NFL after a touchdown.

It’s very similar to Terrell Owens celebrating on the midfield star in Cowboys Stadium and Darren Woodson levelling him with a blindside hit in mid celebration.

Nothing wrong with the showboating by Owens and nothing wrong with the hit by Woodson.

what a legend

LOL. The code is obviously why he did what he did, it couldn't be more obvious. There's literally no other possible reason and if you don't understand that, then go back to your pipe and enjoy the rest of your day.

Why would he break The Code if he respects it so much? Using the stick like that is cowardly.

Rielly was just being a pissy sore loser.

You don’t have to showboat. You can of course, but people shouldn’t be surprised that some teams/players will make you pay for it. Not saying it is right or wrong, but it’s not surprising to see. Other teams would likely have piled on the guy.

Hitting with a bat is different as baseball players don't have same protection and a baseball bat swing is dangerous compared to a cross check with a stick
Bautista had a batting helmet on when got punched, so by your logic, Odor could have swung a baseball bat at his head, since he had protection.

Not that I don’t think Rielly deserves a suspension, he does, but is there any precedence for a player with no DoPS history getting > 5 games as their first and only suspension?
Scheifele got 4 playoff games.

If you take the somewhat understood view that a playoff game equals 2 regular season games, Mark Schiefele got 4 games in the playoffs for the Evans hit. I don’t think he had any history.

Can (MOST) Leafs fans agree it is easily a multi game suspension worthy cross check?
The majority of Leafs fans already have. Dozens of times. They've already agreed it's suspension worthy. Not sure why people are accusing them of not saying that.

It seems that Leafs fans are saying it's a suspension, but very much worth it.

perhaps not however Morgan should not be suprised if there were...Bertuzzi faced criminal charges on the Moore hit...
Different result from the attack. If Greig suffered career ending injury, like Moore, then for sure there would be a civil suit.

It wasn’t dirty. Craig shouldn’t have slapshot it into the empty net. Just some no name player who wants his 15 seconds of fame. What a jerk
This no name player is the same age as Knies. This no name player has exactly one less point than Knies in 10 less games. Yet Leaf fans proclaim how great Knies will be. Who’s the no name again?

You obviously know dick about Morgan Rielly - the man's never been suspended (or even fined) during his entire career.

He was correct to react, in the heat of the moment he overreacted, he will likely be suspended, all the haters will whine about how did didn't get suspended for enough games and life will go on.
