It’s very similar to Terrell Owens celebrating on the midfield star in Cowboys Stadium and Darren Woodson levelling him with a blindside hit in mid celebration.
Nothing wrong with the showboating by Owens and nothing wrong with the hit by Woodson.
I agree and that’d be fine with me in theory but it’s not the standard the NHL has set. History does matter because they’ve said it does.
Can (MOST) Leafs fans agree it is easily a multi game suspension worthy cross check?

You don’t have to showboat. You can of course, but people shouldn’t be surprised that some teams/players will make you pay for it. Not saying it is right or wrong, but it’s not surprising to see. Other teams would likely have piled on the guy.

If you take the somewhat understood view that a playoff game equals 2 regular season games, Mark Schiefele got 4 games in the playoffs for the Evans hit. I don’t think he had any history.
Crosschecking a player in the head from behind after a goal may well justify it.

It's not cause the Sens suck. What Rielly did is more about the frustrations on the Leafs themselves.
I haven’t seen a single Leaf fan who didn’t agree with this yet, personally.

The majority of Leafs fans already have. Dozens of times. They've already agreed it's suspension worthy. Not sure why people are accusing them of not saying that.
It seems that Leafs fans are saying it's a suspension, but very much worth it.

This no name player is the same age as Knies. This no name player has exactly one less point than Knies in 10 less games. Yet Leaf fans proclaim how great Knies will be. Who’s the no name again?

You obviously know dick about Morgan Rielly - the man's never been suspended (or even fined) during his entire career.
He was correct to react, in the heat of the moment he overreacted, he will likely be suspended, all the haters will whine about how did didn't get suspended for enough games and life will go on.
