Reminds me of when Brady Tkachuk cross checked Huberdeau when he scored an ENG. Sens seemed to have a problem with that one, so they'll probably understand Morgan's response.

honestly the nhl would be much better more entertaining league if these kind of plays were encouraged. people who dont like it should stick to the PWHL

I keep seeing this code?

What f***ing code? Lol.

Was not sending out your top PP unit in a 5-1, 6-1 game late in the 3rd not in the code? And swapping out your goalie to get some no name to get in the game look like stunting on your rival?

Those things were much more disrespectful than a hard empty netter f*** code we talking about lmao

Information gathering? Is this some kind of CIS investigation? Do they realize its on video and all they have to do is watch it to get all the info they need?

Need to get reports from refs and, possibly, medical assessments I guess.

LOL

"The Code". Like Rielly cares about that crap.

Im pretty sure using your stick as a weapon is against "The Code".
LOL. The code is obviously why he did what he did, it couldn't be more obvious. There's literally no other possible reason and if you don't understand that, then go back to your pipe and enjoy the rest of your day.

It's understandable. These battles of Ontario are his Stanley Cup moment since he'll never get an actual Cup final with the Leafs.
Leafs get Woll back and pick up Hanifin they Roll Behind Woll.

I’m responding to post #2006. Clearly plenty.

And yes, if by comparison you‘re talking about a sour apple on a table and a rotten apple chucked at a person in the face.
Like I said, who cares? Rielly will get suspended, what more do you want?

"REMEMBER THE CODE OF THE UNWRITTEN RULES THAT CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME."

Well hopefully the unwritten rules change that Greig can crosscheck Reilly in the face before a face-off. Literally no different. Reilly is scum.

Calling Rielly scum is idiotic. He has no prior history of this kind of thing and I’d bet we don’t see anything like it again from him.

While this ended up being bad and is suspension worthy I would be utterly shocked if he had gone in intending to crosscheck him in the head. Doesn’t change the result at all, he was mad and reckless, but that’s not Morgan Rielly.

Goes to show you what a scam positions like this are. They probably have to watch the entire game back twice to see if Greig did anything else to warrant being cheapshotted.

NHL suspensions are a joke and this just further proves it.

Time to speculate.lol

Perron got 6.. Hunter got 21. Crosschecking a guy in the head after scoring a goal is 2 no - no's.

I say 6 games like Perron and an in person hearing.

I'd make it 10 personally. He should've slashed his shins and said 'let's go' and then thrown multiple punches. That would've been a penalty and all the debate would be about taking slappers on empty nets.lol

Well, we are on the main boards so ...

We'll have to agree to disagree. In all my years of being a fan, I have never, ever been happy about something a player on my team did that led to a suspension. I've never, ever cheered for a player intentionally trying to to injure his opponent (outside of a fight or a big, legal hit.)

I think it's psychotic, frankly, and more than a little odd that you think every single fan base cheers for their players to cheap shot and attempt to injure. Luckily I don't think that what you're saying is remotely true.

Trust me there are Leaf fans that feel the same way.

There are plenty of fans of many teams who are as you describe, however.

People will say its "unsportsmanlike", similar to how you can't party too much in the endzone in the NFL after a touchdown.
Yes, I get what they're saying. But how's that more unsportsmanlike than illegally crosschecking someone in the face after the play is over?

10 seems light.

Leafs have 32 games left. Would 32 regular season games and 3 playoff games be too hefty?
