Grieg shouldn't have done that and Rielly shouldn't have cross checked him in the face, probably would have been better if they just fought and dropped the gloves.

Some people in here who didn't live through the real Battle of Ontario in the early 2000s would need a therapist to deal with what happened in the playoffs between the leafs and Sens if they can't handle what happened last night. This was just a love tap in comparison
1 HUGE bright side is Leaf-Sens games will be interesting again

I love how people are somehow making this excusable but Perron going for the guy standing over his lifeless teammate was inexcusable.
well yea, the guy Perron hit was a bystander

I'll be the first to admit that taking a slapper into an empty net isn't nothing and the opposing team will have feelings about it.

Your last line is absolutely ridiculous and stupid and you should be ashamed of yourself.
There's nothing - NOTHING - fineable, suspendable, or worth cross checking someone in the face for it.

What a terrible take

If took a hockey stick and cross checked my neighbor in the face I'd go to jail.
I agree that no fines or suspensions should be given to anyone, I was point out that IF there are any fines Grieg should be one of them because he provoked the incident.

haha. After this suspensions yours might not be either. Easy there big fella, Toronto isn’t anything close to being guaranteed playoff team

I like our chances a bit more than yours.

I personally hope he gets a $5K. That's all it deserves anyway.

And every other sport handles it like Rielly did.

If a player jogs too slowly after hitting a home run the benches clear sometimes.

The NFL will give you a 15 yard personal foul if you stand over a player after hitting him, or celebrate in an opponent's face.

Stop acting like this is just a hockey thing.

It’s the same thing as doing this

I love it all. The slap shot and the retaliation. Hockey needs more of this, ratings would go through the roof.

Exactly. Ask Terrell Owens what hotdogging means in the NFL.

Ottawa
Steve Dangle said it right on LFR. Grieg did the right thing by his teammates and his fans. The building was mostly leaf fans and in that moment the fan base and the team needed that exclamation mark.

That game meant a hell of a lot more to Ottawa than it did the leafs, and the leafs star players sure played like it.

If Morgan wants to respond, drop the gloves. Don’t get your stick up to a guy’s head.

I admittedly have mixed feelings. My initial thought towards the Ottawa player was, "FAFO."

No need for a slapshot in that situation.

OTOH, Reilly's actions are about to put an already questionable defence under more pressure than they already were.

I guess for me, I get wanting to take a piece out of the Ottawa player. Heck, I'd want to. But in the big picture, Ottawa gets the last laugh now and Toronto gets put in a pretty bad spot now as Reilly will surely be sitting out mulitple games.
