So far I haven't seen any Leaf fan say a suspension isn't justified. Simultaneously, they are also pleased someone was made to answer for their behaviour. We are in weird generational times where people think it is OK to throw a jab and then whine and play victim when their jab is met with a swift right hook to the jaw. If you jab, be prepared to get hit.
Don’t need to go far, scroll back one post, from yours.

Absolutely. But after a long back and forth, I honestly don’t think he will be suspended. Perhaps a game max

other than the names on the back, and an empty net there is zero difference between what Hunter did to get 21 games and what Reilly did.
well that’s not entirely true I guess since Reilly got more stick on Greigs head.

Didn't like the contact with the head at all. Glad to see a Leaf finally show some emotion as that deserved a response. Not sure what either player was thinking but Morgan should sit for a couple games there. His reputation so far in his career will keep him off a lengthy suspension I think but he will sit a few and rightfully so.

There should be a suspension, but every team in the league should and would respond in the same way
No they shouldn't. Cross checking people in the face is bad. Hurt feelings don't come close.
It's hilarious the tone difference between this and Perron thread. One player took a cross check to the helmet and one player took it to the flesh of their face.

No they wouldn’t. No a single team would want this kind of reaction. A face wash and maybe an invitation to dance is all that was required. Anything more is just dumb.
Imo cross checking a guy in the head from the blind side, so long after the play is over (the targeted player was skating to his bench) is cowardly. Take the number and fight him next game.

After all is said and done, Reilly (Ray-Lee?) will have learned cross-checking a guy in the head will lose you 4-6 games worth of salary, and Greig will have learned just how easy it is to get under the skin of Leafs.

All these Leaf fans saying f*** around and find out, the only thing Grieg found out was just how easy it is to make a Leaf do something dumb. Someone is going to attack him for this next game and he will turtle up and take the powerplay with a big shit eating grin on his face like the rat he is.

Morgs does not turtle. He is one of the few that will accept a fight.

this may sound silly but I wonder if there is a correlation between age and how you feel about this.
I'm 45 and think a response was justified, but also think the head shot was dirty

At first I thought he hit his shoulder then rode up onto Greig's head, seems to be the case looking at this clip. Reilly first time offender will get 2 games.

Appropriate response (he should have two handed him in the ankle instead) to a needless slapshot into the net. That's the sort of thing the ticktok crowd and some of the Sportsnet multi skilled journalists will enjoy...gives them another chance to rail against team first, modest, do it like you've done it before play. They like that me first, individualist, celebrate like it's your first time kind of play.

What should also be mentioned is a Leaf finally showing some sort of anger at being shown up. Greig does not do this ticktok move against Boston, TB, LV, Winnipeg. Players may start thinking twice about clowning on the Leafs...perhaps it's Matthews or Marner the next time to hand out the receipt with a slash to an ankle or cross check to the ribs or a punch to the jaw.

I wouldnt quite go that far but even if it was. It should have been a scrum and a few face washes and everyone go home....

A cross check to the head/neck was way way over the line......
Yes , Reilly should be suspended, just saying Greig was not innocent like some say

Isn’t this thread about Reilly cross checking a guy in the head well after the play was over? Have we seen this kind of act since the Hunter one?

You asked a question, I answered your question. Could you be any more all over the map?
