Keefe's "I think it was appropriate" is right there with Pat Burns's "Brashear flexed toward our bench"

The reaction from a huge part of the hockey world on this is STUNNING.

Remember when 18yo Kovalchuk double fist pumped on his way to an easy empty netter to seal the 2001 WJC semi against Canada? Try to imagine your reaction if someone jumped him after that

outside of the Dale Hunter incident when has there been other incidents of a player taking a run at another player after they scored a goal and they knew the play was dead?

Maybe Rielly will argue that Grieg doesn’t have many brain cells to damage in the first place, which is actually a somewhat compelling argument.

Still, dirty hit that deserves three games.

Good game Ottawa, they played well, deserved the win.
One was lacking smarts in this scenario and I don’t believe it was Grieg

Slap shot in to an empty net?! My word!

Reilly was just defending the integrity of the game.

That's intent to injure, that should be 10 games, but, it won't even be a suspension..

The next time Ottawa and Toronto play, all of the Ottawa players should just straight up start head hunting with their sticks. If players won't learn from DOPS, then the players on the ice should hand out the punishment.

I didn't realize Reilly hit him squarely in the head. I thought it was more to the shoulder at first.

If Perron got 6 games, this should be more than 10, when you take the context into consideration.

Reilly needs a big suspension here. Clear intent to injure after a goal and near the completion of the game. If you’re frustrated with the action, handle it appropriately. Don’t bring out the fake tough guy act and cross check to the head. Reilly can cool down with his suspension incoming

Don't see an issue with the slap shot. I wouldn't react to it if it was against my team. I guess it falls under the code.

5+ game suspension but who knows. Parros will just spin the wheel of suspension and let that decide.
You’re kidding yourself if not a single guy on your team reacted in some capacity to an EN slap shot from 1ft away.

Should be 5 games at least. The DOPS has a chance to show what kind of hockey culture they want going forward.

A slapshot to an empty net is unorthodox and unnecessary, but also harmless and honestly entertaining. What Rielly did on the other hand was just assault.

The dumb thing is that there was literally no one close when the shot took place so why does it even matter that he took a slap shot? It was a very dumb reaction from Rielly which should be rewarded with a lengthy suspension as the play was dead for a good while at that point.

Regardless if Reilly gets suspended or not won’t change the fact Greig isn’t dumb enough to do this ass clown move again.
