Don't really care about the play. Reilly was pissed off, I'm sure Greig was doing his usual game which is great for the Sens. He gets under peoples skin and plays hard. Reilly took exception whatever. Its just dumb for him to get suspended right now, he's got to keep his emotions in check better.

Take a number and get him next game. Just tough time for Leafs to be without him. He's too important.

Don't see an issue with the slap shot. I wouldn't react to it if it was against my team. I guess it falls under the code.

5+ game suspension but who knows. Parros will just spin the wheel of suspension and let that decide.

You’re confusing two different things.

That was to point out that there’s unwritten rules. Technically neither play was against the rules but both elicited a response.

People here are arguing that they’re glad Rielly did it because of breaking ‘the code’. I don’t think anyone is arguing what Rielly did was legal or within the rules.

You can support the decision by Rielly and live with the consequences. It’s up to the individual.

Sheldon Keefe, for example, thinks it was warranted. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t think there will be consequences or that it’s legal. It really depends on the individual and how egregious they think that Greig did was.
Thats fine that there are unwritten rules, that doesn't give the green light to cross check someone in the head. I think you would be very hard pressed to find anyone who would be upset if Rielly had reacted like the flames did, which is the point I'm trying to make.

People keep defending Rielly which is tantamount to defending the hit.
Keefe saying a cross check to the head is an appropriate response is very telling.

Leafs are a joke. Overpaying everyone and now these entitled morons get mad. Not because their team lost, but only because some AHL guy humialted them.

Win something first and then act like you deserve some respect. When you're a laughing stock is it so surprings that people treat you as a joke.

Too bad the Leafs don’t play with that edge on a regular basis…Might’ve made it past the 2nd round some years ago.

Slappers are a recognized and an accepted part of the cultural region around the blue line.
So yes then lol. It's ok to clap it into an empty net from the blue line.

Personally I find it more disrespectful to send out top players on the PP when the game is out of hand than a what is essentially hard empty net goal

This was way worse than what Greig did let's be real

Am I missing something, Leafs fans are supporting this because he took a slap shot on an empty net? Sure that is a stupid look on the Sens part but it sounds like fuel to try and beat them in the next game or at least have Reilly go over and boast how the Leafs are in a playoff spot and the Sens aren't rather than a cross check in the head.
