No suspensions in 769 games. He’ll get 1 game maybe 2. Greig wasn’t injured. Only reason I’d say 2 is because it happened at the end of the game and the 5+10 was basically useless

You’re kidding yourself if not a single guy on your team reacted in some capacity to an EN slap shot from 1ft away.
I'm sure others find this something to be up in arms over, I really don't personally. How does it matter at all? You can decide that it's embarrassing your team or you decide it doesn't. Be better?

edit: Why don't we see more attacks on players that slowly skate the puck into an empty net?

hockey players have to be the biggest p***yes. Guy slap shots for fun and you lose your mind. How do these people manage to live their lives?

It's equivalent to bashing someones car with a bat because they flipped you off. Rielly needs therapy, because he's a violent freak with no self control.

Show respect, you get respect. Don’t, suffer the consequences. People are too comfortable nowadays.

Regardless if Reilly gets suspended or not won’t change the fact Greig isn’t dumb enough to do this ass clown move again.
Yes he is and yes he should do it again. They beat a rival and its fun to show them up.

I get both sides on this one. I get The Laughs being pissed and going after him a bit but this was way over the line.

The Laughs dont want this to happen, freaking show up to play better.....

There are still other harsh ways to respond that aren’t way over the top. Cross checking anywhere near the head is overkill and childish.

Honestly, overreacting at all with any sort of physical retaliation over a minor perceived slight is childish

That makes zero sense. Rielly takes a nap whenever Matthews takes a cheapshot, but goes crazy because an empty net got hit hard with a puck. He couldn't care less about respect, he just has no self control.

I agree, I thought it was brutal.

But telling someone f*** You is also a way to get yourself in trouble. My point being, being an asshole gets you in more trouble than it’s worth.

You obviously haven’t watched him during his career enough. He stands up for teammates, and is typically very much in control of his emotions.

Scoring a goal makes you an asshole?

I guess Ottawa did not ask for permission if empty net goals and slap shots were allowed...

It was a disrespectful way of doing it. That’s all I was saying. This isn’t the first instance of someone getting pissed at a perceived slight in hockey.

Im not justifying what he did in retaliation, it was childish and over the line.

A normal response would have been challenging Greig to a fight over hurt feelings. Not jumping a guy with a crosscheck. A person in control of their emotions doesn't do what Rielly did.

It is not disrespectful, a goal is a goal. This whole "it was rude" or "it was disrespectful" is complete nonsense.

A goal is a goal. You know how you prevent that from happening? Not putting yourself in the position to where the going needs to be pulled and then letting the opposing team get a breakaway.
