For all those wondering how much Rielly really cares before hand.
Prefer this one I made

Wonder what Brad Marchand is thinking now, next time he gets a breakaway on an empty net. He must be licking his chops, on how he’ll get under their skin.

If you don’t know the difference between shoves and squaring up vs surprising with a cross-check to the head, you can’t be reasoned with. There isn’t a single scenario where a cross-check to the head will ever be justifiable.
the person I was quoting wasn’t suggesting to come in with a shove. They suggested dropping the gloves and fighting. If you’re not going to read what I’m responding to why even bother responding yourself?

No, it doesn't. Either a player has a history of documented dangerous play, or they don't. And Bunting prior to his suspension last year didn't.

There's nothing in the league disciplinary rules about a player receiving extra punishment because they're perceived to be annoying.

"I did nothing wrong and next time I will slash the wrists too"

It's not in the rules, but if a player said that during a DOPS meeting you don't think they will give a harsher punishment? The point of suspensions is to make sure players don't repeat actions. Players like Bunting committed a suspendable act which was backed up by intent from previous border line acts. Also, I never said anything about being "annoying". Rielly will get a big suspension because he believes he did the right thing as does his coach.

Probably shared already, but here's another example of a "goal" resulting in some extracurricular activities.

Huge difference here. Kesler shot it in after the final buzzer. This is similar to shooting it in after the whistle, which is a huge no-no and will often get you a 10 minute misconduct.

Greig shot it in the net during the course of play and was a 100% legit goal.

Not remotely comparable.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good argument.

Stupid, yes! Selfish? I don't get that part.
It’s selfish to satisfy his need for immediate gratification of his need to resolve his feelings of embarrassment. He put this ahead of his team. Now he’s likely out for six games while they’re fighting for a playoff spot.

He said start a scrum drop the gloves and get in his face, don't surprise him with a cross check to the head.

It wouldn't have been much better if he cold cocked him unsuspectingly and started pummeling him though at least that's not with a weapon, the implication was he should have challenged him to a fight, giving Greig the opportunity to defend himself while still getting the message across that you can't embarrass "us" that way.

Yep if the King of all Douches approves you know it was a classy move.

Not remotely comparable? It’s showboating regardless of when the whistle goes. It is very comparable.

One is a legitimate goal scored during the course of play.

The other is not a goal.

In what world is a goal comparable to a non-goal?

Brody had a pretty reasonable reaction to that, rub him out for being disrespectful, had that been all Rielly did we'd only have 3 pages here instead of over 150, but of course the lunatic that wideman is has to go way overboard and escalate it into mayhem, lol. He's the same guy that checked the official on his way off the ice. Rielly is no Wideman, but he certainly went to far in this instance.
