whats with the title? has anyone expressed they think Rielly could get so many games? I dont recall other players having speculation on how many games they might get in the title while we wait to see the results
Agreed. Also due to the emo response the OP made a typo. He meant to post "66 games".

Possibly 666.

The post where I say "excluding off-ice suspensions and automatics."?
LOL... Yes. So you did. My bad, totally misread that.

All I got is that I've been sidelining this while trying to find a job so bit of a split focus.

Am I the only guy around here who thought Canadian people were nice guys who say sorry? Looking at this post, not everyone represents everyone, just like it is within fanbases.

If it was that simple, their own people could make them hold a press conference together where Greig says sorry to the empty net and to all of the children and Rielly says sorry for targeting head - and we would get better results than what DOPS gives and everyone can happily go watch sportsball again.

Which conspiracy theory are we debating? I'm not reading the whole thread because my copy of War and Peace takes priority, so is Taylor Swift involved in this one or not?

I don't know the "rules" the league uses for making judgements; however, I think in situations where the "crime" is serious, such as head shots, that the player is offered a face-to-face meeting to explain his rationale for doing it and defend himself, as the punishment is definitely going to be significant.

Does anyone have any actual text of the rationale for having a F2F hearing?

Right, I’d guess it used to actually serve a purpose, but with the modern world it’s just a bit silly.

players that don't usually take shots like that often mess up.
Same thing with players who don't hit trying to make a big hit.
Okay?

He went out of his way to do something he knew was illegal as a response for his feelings getting hurt, which resulted in him crosschecking a guy in the face.

That's just a ridiculous response no matter how you slice it.

Well, for one, I think the word showboating is doing some seriously heavy lifting when used to describe taking a muffin of a slap shot into the EN. He didn't ride his stick like tiger williams, or throw his glove in the air and mime sniping it.

Teams didn't like Zegras using trick plays to score goals, again, not really at all comparable with Greig showing a bit of emotion when scoring on the EN. Was it taunting, perhaps a bit, but will other teams start targetting him for that? Not a chance, though i'm sure he'll give them plenty of other reasons to hate him, that's just his game.

The ironic thing here is people are quoting the "code" for reasons not to take a slap shot into an empty net but what they do not realise is this whole incident makes NHL players/fans look like little children. Charging down a player who scores a goal is not an example of being tough...it is the exact opposite.

My friends over here in the UK are laughing their asses off.

That is totally reasonable and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Nothing quite like being let go on a Sunday night.

Thanks for challenging my data too - I really need to build an api to the NHL stats dataset to avoid sites with mistakes like that one.

I bet with their poor understanding of the game they probably are.
They would identify more with Stutzle and his diving.

Please ask any nhler that you can and see what they say about the zegras and greig stuff.

Nobody is gonna target him unless he does something stupid like that against their team. And it doesn’t matter what team it is…if he does it…he’ll get attacked.
