It's disrespectful. That's it

But cross checking someone in the head isn't? Not just a dangerous move, but the play isn't even on, and the game is essentially over. That is waaaay more disrespectful.

Maybe one can argue Greig was kinda being a showboat. But just suck it up and act like an adult. Be the bigger person and let it roll off you. And certainly don't make a dangerous attack on the guy.

OMG did you guys see that. He took a slap shot into an open net when there was no goalie. He should’ve just slid it in along the ice. Why would anyone want to a take slap shot which happens probably 20 times a game? Especially when there is no goalie in the way. Imagine the damage to the puck or even worse, rubber marks on the red paint if it hit the post of cross bar. Gary in maintenance would’ve been busy painting those bars on Sunday morning. Seriously. He deserved a cross check to the head. Raising your stick behind you in order to get more power into the shot is such and asshole move where he could’ve snapped it. The fact that the shot was 85mph as to the usually 50-60mph that is allowed by the league is enough to make me mad. Ugh. I don’t blame Reilly. Let’s get the league to make empty net goals illegal if they are too hard or fast.

won't someone think of muh unspoken rules

Did you respond to the wrong post? That poster is right and simply pointed out that it's a lie. This doesn't happen in beer league...as someone who's played hundreds of beer league games.

If it did, you can expect something similar would happen in terms of reaction...whether you feel it's right or wrong

Toronto just set the precedent that hurt feelings means concussions are A OK.

I mean... i'm sure next game hes going to get filled in and jumped to fight...

The games was boring and over... there's a reason he did that when the game had 0 emotion in it...

and shit happens... Should have gotten worse... and if a leaf player ever did that shit, he should get filled in too.

And if he tried to instigate a fight nobody would care. Instead he went for the cheap shot to the head.
I mean yes, I'd prefer Rielly to do literally anything else than cross check him in the head. Go for his ribs.

Lots of fans are confused why Rielly was no happy - it's clear as day way. Not sure how this many people are confused.

For those who don’t follow the Sens, Greig really is a good young player. But he’s a bit of a character.

He got suspended A few years ago for carving up Schieffele in a preseason game, if I remember correctly.
