It's like 'Parlay' in Pirates of thr Caribbean

Sorry, what? Can you imagine Morgan Rielly trying to fight Ridley Greig? C'mon.Or just try to fight him…
even sens players are saying no commentAll the posters in here screaming about the “code” and how dare you slap shot a puck into an empty should be fine with a senators player hunting down a leafs player next season and cross checking them in the face.
You know cause hockey is “emotional” and “f*** around and find out”
Would love to see the reactions if Marner’s neck is bent in half by a stick next season.
The right thing would be to hack his pads or crosscheck him in the ribs, not to crosscheck him in the face.
For 5k you can chop a guy in the head with your stick in today’s nhl …. Cough-cough trouba!Nah, not worth injury risk. Chop to the ribs. Nhl has no issue with that
Not the same thing at all.
That happened between two players already battling. It came right after the whistle but they were engaging with each other.
Like the example I gave of it being 10 games for coming off the bench, coming off a bench doesn't make a fight more violent than two people already on the ice fighting. The reason it is a steep penalty is because it has such potential to disturb order.
They can't set a precedent that a player can cross check another player from 15 feet away with no previous contact blindsided after a whistle when the game is seconds away from being done.
If players get the whiff they can do that without huge consequences you're going to see it a lot more. Imagine during the playoffs the game is over, just wait for the star to turn around and jump him, take the 5k fine.
It disrupts order. He is getting a big suspension. His only saving grace is that he isn't a repeat offender.
Bullshit. It is not against any code. The kid was excited about making all the leaf fans in the Sens barn cry on the way home. It’s an unwritten code, all sports have their set of things you just don’t do to big time the other players. Basketball you don’t score when you’re up big at the end of the game or dunk. You let the clock run out. Same kinda deal with football.
Doesn’t mean anything to thee average fan but these professional athletes hold one another to those sets of rules. I can guarantee the vets on Ottawa are probably laying into Ridley for doing that. Happy over the win but probably not happy about him as a young guy doing that.
For those who don’t follow the Sens, Greig really is a good young player. But he’s a bit of a character.
He got suspended A few years ago for carving up Schieffele in a preseason game, if I remember correctly.
And if his stick breaks he looks like a dingus. That's his choice.Bullshit. It is not against any code. The kid was excited about making all the leaf fans in the Sens barn cry on the way home.
It's not poor sportsmanship to show enthusiasm when the game was still close. This was like a GWG!
Had every right to drill the guy but got the stick up to the head. That’s a sussy!
Found out how to get in the leafs head sure. Don't think Greigs losing any sleep over this.F around and find out. Greig found out.

If its that big a deal then drop the gloves and fight him.even sens players are saying no comment
like I said earlier, If I leaf player did the same thing I would expect him to get jumped, I would 100% call him out, its classless
if he got injured, my opinion obviously would change on the method of attack, but my opinion that they needed an asswhoopin wouldnt
Even Giroux said no comment........Bullshit. It is not against any code. The kid was excited about making all the leaf fans in the Sens barn cry on the way home.
