And a lot of former players, including Senators fan Marc Methot have no problem with what either player did.

A rookie was trying to make a name for himself because he thought he could get away with it. A veteran made him eat a stick for it.

What are the actual quotes of these former players?

Just like they are aware of Sens fans finding joy in such insignificant moments.

You’ll forgive me if you don’t take your word as the arbiter of what is fun/funny/entertaining/significant.

Somehow Alfie waving a stick in the air became an egregious offence that is still talked about today, so your collective track record for judgment on that score is suspect.

Not sure what the consensus has been through 134 pages, but what a clown move by Greig. I would imagine someone on the Sens told the kid to cut the s***. That was absolutely embarassing and makes the Sens look completely classless.

Every single team in the league responds the same way Rielly does.
I doubt every team Crosschecks him in the face.

Methot agrees it should be a suspension. Guaranteed Methot also agrees it should have been gloves dropped, scrum not crosscheck to the head as well. The idea of a response is one thing, not this response.

He literally says "I love the response from Rielly"

But yes, Rielly's response could have been better. I'm sure in hindsight even he would probably get his stick lower.

Another former NHLer:

Or maybe Rielly should try to not be a baby and to grow up.

Someone does something rude? Deal with it.

Not only is he a baby, he also is a selfish baby, leaving his team, in fight for a playoff spot, without their #1 D for x number of games, for no benefit.

Not only the writers, but the HF haters would love to see Rielly executed.

Didnt you guys have your media basically planning your parade last year after finally not collapsing for 1 round?

Amazingly, the Senators have actually had more big moments in the last 10 years. All while having like a hundreth of the resources.

And obviously the current iteration of the team might be the worst its been in a while, so surely there cant be optimism for this year.

But if was the Leafs and Reilly was the closest, just about the whole hockey world thought the Leafs didn't know the CODE.

yea like i said, taking the shot at all shows an inherent lack of respect for the leafs willingness to do anything about it. and to be clear on that, i'm not suggesting having some mutant on the roster would be the deterrent there, or that he consciously was thinking about that. it's more that teams that play with a certain edge to them prevent the thought of doing that from occurring.

Lol, scoring goals against your team hurts your feelings? pick a different sport. I hope Greig continues to score empty netters like that.

I guess you weren't here for the summers of Pierre, because there was plenty of crowing by your bunch too.
