The difference is, I don't think having an in-person hearing means the player called to the hearing (in that case, Rielly) can't end up with less than 6 games.
Minimum 6 is the same as 6 or more, in my books.

He could end up getting less than 6 games, no?

I mean, if the amount of games is already determined before the hearing, why even bother with the hearing?
It will be a full force suspension. No one is going to look over a premeditated cross check to the head. The NHL is not going to have any leniency for this one. Regardless if it their heralded Maple Leafs.

I figure 6-10 games.

There is not even a chance the Leafs management brings up "but he slapped the puck into an empty net" in the hearing. That would be farcical.

This was a bad hit. Not what the modern NHL is going to tread lightly over.

In fact, Keefe will be given a talking to as well.

I'm not sure I follow, bunting made an illegal hit to the head, and interference, causing an injury, and he was back for game 6, not out for the series

I don't really recall the specifics for Kadris suspensions, but I do believe his history played a factor.
I'm saying Leafs do not get benefit of the doubt. We even recently saw Gallagher purposely chicken wing Pelech head and only receive 5 games. That was one of the most intentional dirty hit I’ve seen in a long time.

I thought an in person hearing means he will get more than 5 games. Hence 6 games or more. Minimum of 6. If it was 5 or less or a fine would just be over the phone, correct?

That being said, I do wonder how often in-person hearings result in less than 6+ games.

And considering how intentional this one was...the book will be thrown at him if it is indeed thrown.

Honestly, Greig has this coming to him.
Terrible take. Nobody deserves a deliberate cross check to the head unless they did something similar.

This false equivalency shit is ridiculous. "The code" lol. As Matthews, Marner and Nylander dance around after each goal. Clearly, they deserve a chop to the teeth from the opposing player right?

It is the same.
But notice I wrote "could end up with 6 or more".

Meaning Rielly can end up with 5 games or 0 games.

From my understanding, an in-person hearing is mandated if the player called to the hearing COULD end up with 6 games or more. But 6 isn't the minimum.

I never said he wasn't once useful. That's not the argument. Nice try.

Reaves doesn't play enough to keep anyone in line. The whole sens bench was laughing at Reaves at the end of the game. They all know he's useless.

Keep mark in line? Lmao, he's not some dirty player. He's just a solid 4th line for checker when he's on his game. He can PK too. That's it. He's nothing special. Replaceable.

Reaves is someone you want off the team asap because he couldn't even keep up with the play in the east coast.

Is there a stat for least amount of ice time per minus? I'm sure Reaves has got to be leading the whole NHL. Do you know of anyone else that has him beat?

LOL. I'll let you live in your delusion, sir. Sen fans need these little victories!

I don't disagree with any of this, I just have an issue with the wording used in the title thread.

Yes and no. Almost exactly the same. Only difference is that Perron’s was direct to the head and to a guy that hadn’t done a single thing.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if Rielly gets the same or even more to remind players they can’t respond like that.

I hate dirty stick work. Especially when it’s revenge
So did Reilly.

Like people just say “it’s the code”. But like seriously. What is the actual problem with the slapshot? No one can explain that other than “it’s the code”
80 pages and not one person has given a real actual logical reason.

It's actually quite funny.

You'll get a question or chirp in return. Not an actual logical answer.

If it was that way, it would mean the suspension length is already pre-determined and the whole process is, thus useless.

It may well be, but let's not presume it'S the case.

Has he played a single game since taking that hit, nowhere near the puck?

I rest my case.

The Flyers said in September 2019 that Patrick had been diagnosed with a migraine disorder. Fletcher said at the time that the condition was not believed to be related to hockey, and Patrick has a family history of migraines.

Whiny bitch move from a whiny bitch team.

If Reilly didn’t like what Grieg did, square up with him and make him drop the gloves.

Leafs may be the most mentally fragile team in NHL history.
