That would be maximum. Minimum means he is getting at least 6 games, but can be more.
He could end up getting less than 6 games, no?

I mean, if the amount of games is already determined before the hearing, why even bother with the hearing?

you dont have to like or even understand hockey culture but it exists. that play is always going to end up in a scrum regardless of the player or teams involved. the only reason for that play is to intentionally antagonize your opponent. im all for the slapshot too but it was a totally cowardly move to run away from the scrum. grieg should have taken that slapper and immediately turned around and faced rielly.

Usually code things are related to violence or where someone can get hurt.

Such as:

-dont take a run at our star player
-dont take a run at a rookie
-dont hit the goalie
-a fighter shouldn't fight a non fighter

They are all things where someone could get hurt and a defensive/protective response is warranted.

What we have here is an ego thing where no one has a chance of being harmed.

This is a case where the code would be to take his number and hit him extra hard every chance you get next time you play him, withing the bounds of the rules.

The code doesnt say anything about cross checking a player in the head after he harmed no one.

It's a feelings getting hurt thing. You take their number down and remember it for next time.

Rielly's going to have to have a police escort next time they play Ottawa, some fans are getting a little over the top. He'll get his punishment, I just hope it's not a Sens fan vigilante...the tough guys @ing him on social media, should probably take a step back.

For sure, that usually the case. Except for Kadri (twice suspended while on the Leafs) and Bunting that received full series suspensions.
I'm not sure I follow, bunting made an illegal hit to the head, and interference, causing an injury, and he was back for game 6, not out for the series

I don't really recall the specifics for Kadris suspensions, but I do believe his history played a factor.

Zub didn't do anything, but Perron did think he did something,

Also, there's another angle floating around from a cell phone recording that seems to show a pretty direct hit by Reilly as opposed to it ridding up.
Ahh haven’t seen that. I thought it was off shoulder to head. Either way…I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get at least 6. Deserved

I also hope the next time a guy takes a slap shot from 5 feet away on an empty net he has to answer. Just not with dirty stick work

Edit: is it this view?

Looks like he cross checked through his hand and shoulder.

The Sens did not make the finals in 2017. They haven't sniffed the playoffs since and one series win since then is still better than zero.

Is it though?
One to tore themselves down to the studs to rebuild and the other has been expected to challenge for the Cup.
The Sens had zero expectations and met them, the Leafs expected Cups and have been laughingstock failure.

no thats what i thought too. in person is required for anything more than 5.

Technically for an in person hearing the minimum is 0 games. They can't give *more* than 5 without an in person hearing so the fact that it's in person implies that they believe there's a chance it will be 6+, but it's entirely possibly (technically, not in practice) for them to have the in person hearing and then say "actually he's fine, no suspension"
Alright that's fair.

That's what I meant by my first post on the topic.
