^^^^^ Gee, could ya tell which one is BY FAR the best player?

(Note: The Triple Crown Line? Give The Man a high throne! The Napoleon of hockey players.)

My apologies to @Robert Gordon Orr for not quoting these, but it's easier to copy the pictures I want to ask about:

Is Tretiak wearing one of the Finnish helmets with a cage attached?

Canada here looking suspiciously like the Detroit Red Wings

Thanks for this, an amazing photo!! The goaltender has a skirt over her goalie-pads....

If this is indeed at the Vancouver Arena, the location is where Georgia Street meets Denman Street today, in the north-west end of downtown Van, at Devonian Harbour Park. Great stuff.

Denman Arena? The first indoor ice rink in Canada and third one built ever? Wasn't it recently torn down?

I'd never seen this one before.... quite cool. I'm thinking 1980-81:

This photo appears in a Regina newspaper, so I'm guessing... pre-season game, c.September 1984 (going by Gretzky's hair)?

No, Tretiak is not wearing a Finnish helmet. Several of the Soviet players wore blue helmets for some reason. (I have several photos from this game & tournament). He has a "CCCP" sticker on the front. I believe some of the Soviets had been approached by various manufacturers at that time, like JOFA (Sweden) and Koho (Finland), thus using their equipment (not always having the right color).

Yeah, this was the style of jerseys that Canada wore in 1986. Here you see Luc Robitaille in 1986. (Not as reddish color as in the other photo).

That last one took the cake!:biglaugh:

Robort Gordon Orr... I thought 2 of the 16 photos in your last post were great! :) ...

But responses suggest at least 3.

Thanks for them.

Pat Quinn looked just like himself.

Wonder what Gordie had just done to the Big M?

Great defensive help for Tony O (if in fact that stick in the picture is attached to a Blackhawk).

I’ve seen Marcel Dionne 2-3 times every week for years at the Blueline in Niagara Falls. He’s not 5’9”. I don’t think he’d be 5’9” on skates, either.

Yeah, I ate there a couple times when I was visiting family. He seemed closer to 5'7 to me.

Also, super nice guy.
