Jansen Harkins 1G 1A
Ville Heinola 1G 1A
Dominic Toninato 2A
Dean Stewart 2A

Notable:
Alex Limoges 100th AHL point.
Arvid Holm 23 saves on 24 shots. He’s 11-7-3 with 2.74 GAA & .915 save%.

Re-match tomorrow night in Grand Rapids.

Heinola is essentially up to a ppg as a dmen in the league. Hope he hits the gym hard this summer as I think there will be a spot for him to win next year much like Snerg has won one this year.

He's a level above his talent level playing in the A, looks like he was a much more prominent defenseman than the younger Edvinsson last night. As a pairing I notice he and Lundmark are hitting their stride. I'm hoping to catch a couple of games on the homestand see what's working for the Moose. Ever since they put Maier as the centre between Harkins and Reichel that line seems to be clicking.

Lundmark is essentially an AHL version of DeMelo. I think ville os going to need some defensive support in the NHL while he settles.

Thank you for noticing this.

I watch him every time he's on the ice and nothing happens, positive or negative.

He can make a break out pass for a zone exits, doesn't get to any defensive trouble, but he just doesn't stand out (which isn't a bad thing at all). (although maybe my sample size is off)

3rd:

Moose take it 4-2 to kick off eight straight at home. Moose improve to 25-16-3-2 on the season as they win a big one against their division rival and their third win in a row (reminder loss on Monday counts as a loss on January 13th not February 13th).

They now sit 3rd in the division as Rockford lost tnt.

Editing to add a link to the post-game recap which is here.

Going from the box score the lines tonight were

Malott-Toninato-Limoges
Harkins-Meireles-Reichel
Polei-Maier-AJF
Torgersson-Nikkanen-Jones

Heinola-Lundmark
Chisholm-Gawanke
Sauntner-Stewart

I think Dean Stewart is quietly having a good season for the Moose, which is probably why he plays as much as Bauer. I expect Ogilny gets into the lineup sooner or later, maybe when Heinola gets promoted again.

Bongiovanni seems like he is having a rough rookie season. See him on the wrong side of the highlight reels alot. He and Tyler Boland would be the forward reserves right now.

Cole Maier seems to get production out of whatever line he plays on.

At some point you have to wonder if Harkins gets another look in the bottom 6 on the Jets?

@ICdave Is Lundmark hurt? I see he’s not dressed tonight.
Darn. Forgot to ask after the game. Will find out.

An impressive performance for the Manitoba Moose who won their fourth straight game defeating the Wild 2-1 and outshooting them 38-15.

They’ve got point in five straight (4-0-1-0) as they improve to 26-16-3-2.

Next up is Grand Rapids on Sunday and Monday.

The special teams of the Moose were special as they went 3/4 on the power play and went 5/5 on the penalty kill as they fought back from 3-1 and 4-2 deficits to force extra time but ultimately lost in the shootout.

Notable: 2nd best PP in AHL/5th best PK in AHL

The Moose four-game win streak is now a six-game points streak (4-0-1-1) as they had lost in OT to the Admirals before they began their win streak. They are 26-16-3-3 which is good enough for 3rd in the Central.

Nice start for the Moose. 2 goals on 2 shots. Beginning with a Kristian Reichel shorty. What the hell happened to Nedeljkovic?

Good stuff -- thanks ICD.

Great to see Nikkers starting to put some games together and Heinola continuing to roll along. Harkins gunning for the playoff roster?

Woah, packed lower bowl? I haven't seen a Moose game have an attendance like that since before they left when the Jets came back. Good to see the fan support for the baby Jets

I love that 2 of those goals came from attacking Simon Edvinsson, who is supposed to be an elite defensive prospect, who just turned 20. Torgersson and Nikkanen have had quiet seasons so far, nice to see them starting to produce.

I really like Togersson and Nikkanen. I think they’re progressing fine. One or two more years on the Moose and they should be ready for the NHL.
