Moose Season Discussion

Crazy to think both teams came in on seven game points streaks and the Moose manhandled the Admirals for the first 30 minutes of the game.

Moose points streak hits eight games as they hold on for the 3-2 win over the Admirals and close the gap to two points in the Central Division between 2nd and 3rd. Manitoba improves to 28-16-3-3 on the season.

Meh.

As if the Jets need yet another small, mobile PMD who can transition like crazy, make seeing-eye passes tape to tape to exit the zone with possession, quarterback a PP that's among best in the league and consistently take pressure off the top lines by putting up points from the back end?

Kids's a bust already.

6th in the AHL in PPG for a dman, 3 of the guys ahead of him have 5 or less games played. The other two are 25+ guys.

At worst he should be a really valuable prospect for a trade. Would love to see him replace a vet on the right side next year though, even if it's a third pairing.

He can also somehow PK against all these big AHLers too!

BUT NIKU!!!

Yes def good to see him playing hard and putting up points while hopefully refining his chops defensively -- no longer have access to Moose games over here so am relying on @ICdave and the odd highlight.

Expect to see him moved soon honestly, but would be great to see Stanley traded or Schmidt moved down or on, and another promising prospect given a proper shot in TC next season.

Today’s Moose game is free on AHLTV (Watchtheahl.com).

Game is also available in Plains Cree on YouTube.

@ICdave - can you find out why Lundmark isn’t dressed?
I believe he's in the rotation with Bauer right now. I think they feel his play has slipped a bit of late so they aren't using him as much as he was being used before.

Problem was I didn't get a chance to do media as I had to leave before the game ended and team is now on the road as of tomorrow for two weeks. If trend continues I'll ask coach.

Moose ended a fantastic eight-game homestand with a big 5-3 win over the Wolves this afternoon as they go 6-1-1-0.

It’s their 30th win of the season as they improve to 30-17-3-3. They sit 3rd in Central. They head out on the road for seven games.

For those that have watched games how has Chisholm looked this year? Has Limoges earned a recall at some point?
Chisholm has been the Moose best defenseman outside of Heniola. Creative offensively, especially on the powerpoint, he jumps up in the rush all of the time. He's been playing along side Gawanke. Defensively there maybe some issues that he needs to work out (I've maybe seen him play 7 times this year, so consider the sample size).

Harkins has looked good the past few times I've seen him. He's been the most noticeable player for the Moose. He's at over a point of game. When he was called up a few years ago, he was averaging around a point a game, however, a lot of that could be attributed to Seth Griffith. Harkins is now driving the play. IMO, he's better than a number of guys playing on the Jets right now. His lack of finish is frustrating though. Considering how much he generates, he should be scoring more.

Thanks for this detailed report. Always good to have a better sense of life on the farm. Agree that Harkins would be an upgrade on your basic Kuhlmans but not sure we see any movement there barring injury or playoff rosters.

And glad to see Chisholm continue to develop well. Such an interesting player with terrific mobility. Would be nice to see a spot open up on the Jets D to provide some runway for he and Heinola to make the jump.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Glad to heard about Chizzy and I agree with you about Harkins.
