Wow, the Moose are really good.

I haven't been paying much attention.

Moose lost first game in regulation during their seven-game road trip as the Wild took it 5-2 in Iowa.





On both goals Ville Heinola and Jansen Harkins weren't awarded assists but as Craig Button would say they both had nice third assists.

Re-match this afternoon.

Yep. Hard to imagine Chevy/ the org watch that passing, vision and special teams ability game after game after game after game and thinking to themselves, "That is absolutely what we do not need on the Jets."

Here's hoping that he sticks around, has a great TC, and does his believers proud next season when it counts.

Agree, although he's been durable of late.

Hard for me to catch Moose games these days so am relying on our local watchers, but always good to see a young player doing everything they can to get back to the bigs -- Harkins also.

Moose did not have a great weekend in Iowa as their special teams were not special. They built up a 2-0 lead in this game but power play goals against allowed the Wild to tie it and then blown coverage allowed the home team to take a 3-2 lead. Empty netter was icing on cake.

Holy smokes Bauer is one tough hombre

I watched a little of the game tonight. OT loss.
I noticed that Bauer was a feature on the PK and looked good (to me) plus an assist.

This is my guy. I'm really pulling for him. If he develops, oh man, what an add to our right side. Exactly the type of player I want to see added to rebuild our defense. The kind of D that can put a halt to the cycle in the corner and along the boards.

The whole city of Seattle is pulling for Bauer, the guy was a warrior for us.

Moose were in Rockford to take on the Icehogs were they had a 2-1 lead, which became a 3-2 deficit in the blink of an eye (20 seconds), and then forced OT where they lost.







Notable: Leon Gawanke picked up his 100th AHL point.

The single point earned by the Moose gives them 70 on the season (31-19-5-3) which keeps them in 3rd spot. They are just one back of the 2nd place Admirals and two back of the 1st place Stars.

Manitoba improves to 32-19-5- 3 which gives them 72 points. They sit one back of 2nd and two back of 1st. Six different goal scorers. Arvid Holm made 33 saves on 34 shots.

We're certainly gonna see some playoff hockey in Winnipeg. This team is very impressive.

Moose and Wolves played a tighter game this afternoon in Chicago which saw the lead change back and forth. Ultimately Manitoba forced OT with a late 3rd period goal with their net empty. Nothing in OT and the visitors won it in the SO.









Moves Manitoba into 2nd place and just one point back of 1st.

Watching highlights of this weekend's Moose games and yesterday's ICE game is a nice palate cleanser after that Jets debacle.

Moose kicked off final eight-game homestand this evening against the Icehogs with a 4-3 shootout loss.







The OT was incredible and shootouts are garbage.

Manitoba now 33-19-5-4. They have a solid hold on 3rd, are two back of 2nd and four back of 1st (with a game in hand).

I was thinking that Heinola has actually looked defensively good lately, much better than couple of seasons back.

To prove my point checked out the +/- where one stands out. I know this is just a single stat that don't tell much but... How is this even possible? No such contrast on any other AHL teams D.

Yup. Hopefully he gets a similar leash as Samberg got this year to establish himself. If he can gain confidence and get his footing I think he's a future second pairing NHL dmen.
