Still no Ville Heinola for Manitoba (illness as of yesterday) for game two vs Canucks. Good news is 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert is back after taking big hit in 3rd last night (he returned in game). Toninato, Malott, Limoes & Stenlund all playing so no recalls at forward (yet).

The Moose continue to show they rebound well after a loss as they defeat the Canucks 2-1 in the second game of this series. 7th time this season they followed up a loss to open a two-game series with a win. They are now 11-6-2-1.

Nice response by the Moose tonight for the 2-1 win!

You know who I thought looked good tonight was Bauer. Nothing fancy, but my kind of player. Curious they had him playing with Lundmark. Two Righty's paired together. Perhaps not so curious and a matter of necessity with Heinola out.

Is there a chance that the Jets send Lambert to the WHL after World Juniors. I haven't watched the Moose for the last month but doesn't seem like points are coming for him. Not sure if that's indicative of his play though

Ville Heinola still out due to illness. Team got alternate captain Cole Maier back tnt.

Manitoba improves to 12-6-2-1 on the season. They conclude road trip with a re-match on Thursday.

This tilt deserves it's own post.

Bauer is a nice addition to the team this year. I wonder if he would have made the Moose, or been demoted back to the W, if Kovacevic had cleared waivers.

What's going on with Lambert? You would hope he would take some of the slack off Lucius being loaned to the U.S world junior team, but he's still struggling, playing on a 3rd line with Maier and Bongiovanni last night. The promise he showed in TC hasn't really translated into AHL success.

That said the Moose are finding ways to win. In spite of losing so many players to injury, loan, and callups.
Toninato, Malott and Reichel seem to be providing good leadership down on the farm right now.

The Moose are incredibly thin upfront right now so no real surprise an 18 year old without the proper vet forward support is struggling.

He's a player that imo needs to be be put with good players while he rounds out his game. Ditto for Lucious who also wasn't doing much of note either before his injury.

I think this just goes to show that you shouldn't read much into TC and that both of these 1st round forward picks are years away from making the Jets in a meaningful way.

Fourth game in a row that Ville Heinola missed due to injury. Presumption is that Brad Lambert didn't play due to heading to World Juniors.

You could tell the first year pro was jazzed to play in his home province. Proved to be a memorable night

Toninato with a goal in back-to-back games:

The Wranglers came back to win with two goals about five minutes later. Moose slip to 12-7-2-1 on the season as they split the four game road trip with 2W and 2L Manitoba are home tomorrow and play a pair of matinee games this weekend in Winnipeg.

I have January 19th circled on my calander for the Jets to call up Bauer when the Leafs come to town. They called up a tough guy from the AHL specifically for their game against us this year, the Jets should do the same.

Bauer is a tough kid but he is still a kid. Not that the Laffs have anyone on their side that could fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Moose win third game in a row (five of last six) as they defeat the Wild 5-3 to improve to 15-7-2-1.

Goals: Maier| Maier| Polei | Toninato | Malott |

They close out the pre-Christmas portion in a re-match against Iowa on Friday night.

I usually check the boxscores of each game, and what impressed me is that the line of Polei-Maier-Jones scored the first 3 goals, and 2 of them came against the Petan-Rossi-Nathan Walker line all guys who played for the Wild this year.

I’m a bit surprised Maier hasn’t got an NHL contract from the Jets.
