Sami Niku no dice to keep shootout rolling for Laval:
The win today gives the Moose a 20-6-0-2 record in Winnipeg. Not too shabby. They improve to 34-19-4-2 on the season as they come closer and closer to clinching a playoff spot.
I think he's looked good. Skating, positioning, passing definitely there; just needs to get his hands working with his head some of the time, and process the game a bit quicker. Seems to be a smart player though, with some skill, and that's a nice core game to build around. Gus plus?
A good start to the weekend homestand against the Marlies.
David Gustafsson scores his 13th:
Johnny Kovacevic hits double digits in goals for first time:
Nice work by this trio to put the exclamation point on the game:
The Moose pick up another home W as they defeat the Marlies to improve to 21-7-0-2 record in Winnipeg. They are now 35-20-4-2 and inching ever closer to a playoff spot. This team just continues to roll along.
Not as easy a game as they played on Friday night but another impressive comeback win by the Moose
Nice drive by CJ Suess:
Good hands by Johnny Kovacevic:
David Gustafsson finishes off the Jeff Malott drive:
The Moose comeback to defeat the Marlies 4-3 in regulation and improve to an impressive 22-7-0-2 record in Winnipeg. They win three of four during homestand. They are now 36-20-4-2 on the season and even closer to clinching a playoff spot.
An early 3rd period goal by Jeff Malott surprisingly turned out to be the game-winner after the Moose gave up a shorthanded goal and a goal with under a minute to go in the 3rd.
The Moose start the road trip off with a win as they hold on for a 3-2 victory over the Admirals in a battle of the 2nd place vs 3rd place teams in the central. Manitoba improves to 37-20-4-2 and their magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to 3.
The Moose fail to pick up a fourth straight win in pretty spectacular fashion as they lose 7-2 in the re-match with the Admirals. They basically no-showed the first couple of periods.
Given this was the second game of a back-to-back and they were facing a tough Wolves team (top in the West) this didn't look like an easy game for the Moose but they dominated for most of it.
Leon Gawanke ties it late in 3rd:
Impact on prospects:
The Malott brothers both punched their tickets this evening:
