I'm sticking with poor man's Bergeron.
Backlund on Calgary is my favorite current NHL player comp for him.
I'll be at the game with my father in law tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing them live again.

Any chance Holm moves past him on the depth chart this season?Berdin just doesn't inspire any confidence in me. The second goal was entirely on him and he was often out wandering.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, re: Berdin's numbers. He's fun to watch but has never been really that great in the AHL aside from 25 or so games in his first year. He was always a long shot though just based on draft position. Comrie has been far better at the AHL and people are upset he's our backup, can't see Berdin amounting to much better unless he really turns it around. It wouldn't surprise me, I like Holm's game a lot more.
Berdin keeps going the wrong way and its not like he is behind a bad team anymore:
His numbers since becoming a pro in the AHL:
.923
.912
.897
.887
Not at all encouraging.

I know Holm is the same age as Berdin but with way less experience and equally terrible numbers I just wonder if True North gives a run of games as #1 to see if he shows anything more.
Wouldn't surprise me if we use a late round pick on a goalie again this year, just to keep the cupboard stocked. Moe is probably the only other prospect goalie who might make it to pro. He seems to be having a solid season in college. Neaton, who was a head-scratching pick at the time, has looked terrible, at least stats-wise. 22 years old and a backup in college posting abysmal numbers, I doubt he gets a contract.
Moose didn't have any finish today and were pretty undisciplined.

Heinola scored on nice one timer and then hit the post on another one but otherwise was not all that great imo. He was walked on a couple of occasions and made some bad reads and passes. His defense was fairly mediocre.
Gawanke was either miss firing or passing up prime shooting areas most of the night. His defense was ok.
Chisholm was ok offensively but wasn't super sharp in his end and took a dumb penalty late.
Lundmark played a hard defensive game and pinched effectively. He shows good size and strength.
Samberg was ok. He showd some better defense and moved the puck well in his end. He was also trying to make some things happen offensively.
Kovacevik played ok as well. Was physical and moved the puck well in his end.
Perfetti: had another good game and could have had a few points with some better finish and decision making by the players he set up in good locations. He is just terrific at zone entries and is hold8ng the puck more and showing more of his deception in the ozone.
Gus outside of one rush wasn't noticeable at 5 on 5. He was great on the PK and had a nice assist.
What do you think of Reichel's game? He made the play on the blue line that set up the shorty. Starting to get on the scoresheet. Is he the best skater on the Moose?
Gus probably be a 3c and top pk guy if given a chance
Is Essymont hurt? Haven't seen his name in game summaries for a few games. Too bad if he is hurt, he is exactly the kind of player the Jets need to callup to inject some energy into the lineup.
He was playing last weekend when I was there. No clue on if he played today or not.
1st period:
Don't post much anymore but here at the Moose game (again) with my kid's team and really wish the Jets (and their coaching staff) were up in the press box watching how a Moose team that has committed to a version of the Jets' system that, with the addition of some flexibility for its most creative players, can play the absolute living s*it out of it, using speed, flair, defensive positioning and awareness and individual brilliance to dominate play all round the ice and in all situations. They have put on some masterclasses this season, and again this aft, and deserve all the recent fan support they're getting, and then some.
Perfetti, Heinola, Gus, Reichel, Kova, Jeff M -- the list of strong performances game after game is a long one. GMG, etc.
