Well he was having a mediocre season and was still just 2 points behind your top centre who is 36 and not getting better.

I guess beggars really can be choosers.

So Montreal can keep domi. A good c doesn't lose to other c. A really good player should be able to beat out his competitors/ competition & he didn't.

Take the first rounders and Kulak and Hartman out of the Wild deal, add a 2nd round pick to Montreal, and then I'd do it.
I'm sure you would but your not getting Domi for nothing. Habs laugh and pass.

Domi isn't a c, he just isn't. His Value isn't even close to close to value of Brodin.

My Inference : the fact our GM didn't Trade Brodin or Dumba for Trocheck should tell Montreal fans there's 0 percent chance of Brodin for Domi.

Brodin is wild only LD after Suter. At best Suter has 2 years, maybe 3 years left then Brodin takes over for him
Your GM didn't trade Brodin or Dumba for Trocheck because Trocheck was never offered to them.

But a mid 1sts and "scraps" (later picks, prospects, etc) are what players like Domi get traded for.

He's a 50 point left wing. He's certainly not going to return a Pacioretty type package. Look at what Ryan O'Reilly got, look at what Trochek got. Why would Domi return more than that?

If you're looking for one singular piece that's as valuable as Domi, your best bet is to keep Domi, or else find a team that desperately needs a 2nd line LW.
He's easily worth one of Brodin /Dumba one for one.

Nah, hard pass on Domi for the 9th or Brodin or Dumba. We'll keep our assets, you keep the 50 point left wing that prefers playing center but got supplanted in the playoffs by two 20 year olds and is better on the wing but doesn't want to play there and also doesn't like the cold weather and will want to be paid like a 70 point center even though he's a 50 point winger.

I'll tell you what though, if y'all are really desperate to get rid of him, I'll do Greenway+'21 2nd for him.
You would,We laugh and hang up.

Montreal fans big mad & coming up with dumb jokes
What you didn't like the trade? I think its very fair. If offers like Domi +greenway and a 2nd is on the table why not Hudon for the 9th overall? Hell we can throw in a 7th rounder to give you guys a bit more value just because we are feeling nice.

No one is mad by the way I just made a stupid offer because a MN fan has been doing the same in every habs thread that has Domi mentioned in it. Fairs fair right?

Are you not the poster that 's always making stuff up?
Example below.
Like ..the fact our GM didn't Trade Brodin or Dumba for Trocheck

Fact is there was no proof of that offer in the first place, Just you speculating again and claiming it was a fact.

No it's actually a fact! Stop acting like this wasn't reported.

You aren't even a wild fan! Get over it

All the reports i could find were the Wild were interested in Trocheck but the Panthers went the other direction.
I think you have it mixed up AGAIN.
You keep pulling up rumors and then try to claim they are facts.
This has been mentioned to you on many occasions by many other posters but you keep making up assumptions and than claim them to be a fact.
Now prove me wrong with a link.

I love these “OK, my team just lost, what can I do” threads

GMs do the same thing . A team that lost needs to improve and most losses expose their weakness . Now I agree fans do it out of emotion rather then wait until those emotions have subsided.

Humans are a very emotional creature even after time passes we can hold grudges and hate for years.

Only Montreal fans overrate Montreal, oi t think Minnesota should trade 9th overall. My gosh. Moving down isn't happening especially for domi.

You have right to your opinion, but your wrong. Teams don't trade top 10 picks especially when they can put together picks or other things to help them move uo

It's a bit disingenuous to say ''teams don't trade top 10 picks'', then proceed to mention your team can add more picks to move higher in the top 10, implying that another team will trade its top 10 pick...

I will just fill in what i think.
Trade 1...easy NO from the Habs.
Trade 2..Probably a pass from both teams.
Trade 3.. we lose a D-man [probably Chiarot] in the expansion draft so no.

Trying to help both teams in areas of need.

The Habs are looking to get an established, younger winger to grow with Suzuki and/or Kotkaniemi as they move forward in their career. Jets have been looking for a #2C since Stastny left. Little isn't reliable because of his injury history.

Proposal is this...

Max Domi
for
Nik Ehlers

Those are the two main pieces, however a pick or prospect may have to be added. I don't think anything significant, but enough to sway the deal to get done. Nik has a contract in place while Max is a RFA this year. Wondering what you're thoughts are and what the two team's fans think of its possibility to happen?

Habs need to add a pretty decent asset.

How so? Ehlers plays with way more talent than Domi does and he can't play center. Career numbers are not far apart between the two. Jets probably say no but the value is not terrible. Pumping up Ehlers playing on the Jets and deflating Domi with his numbers on the Coyotes and Habs talent. :sarcasm:

Domi could easily do what Ehlers has done with the Jets top 6 talent IMO. I think the Habs need to be careful with Domi cause I can see him breaking out if he plays with real top 6 talent for a change
