Yeah your GM wouldn't even get Suzuki's full name out of his mouth before MB hung up. Everyone knows how long the Habs have been waiting for a legit 1C and Suzuki is our best chance so trading him makes no sense if your GM wants a 1C for Brodin or Dumba it most likely wont happen there are very few teams with two 1C's on there team and there are still teams looking for a legit 1C you either have to draft them or you wait for that rare chance there is a very unhappy 1C(Eichel comes to mind no I am not saying hes being traded or asking for one) asking for a trade.

This is kinda how Minnesota fans feel when Montreal fans think their left winger can get Brodin or Dumba in a trade.

Yeah I don't agree with those fans but I also don't agree with other fans that think they can get Domi with a mid 1st and scraps. Who knows what Domi will sign for or traded for but his play these playoffs are nudging me towards trading him even though I want to keep him just depends on the cap and term.

But a mid 1sts and "scraps" (later picks, prospects, etc) are what players like Domi get traded for.

He's a 50 point left wing. He's certainly not going to return a Pacioretty type package. Look at what Ryan O'Reilly got, look at what Trochek got. Why would Domi return more than that?

If you're looking for one singular piece that's as valuable as Domi, your best bet is to keep Domi, or else find a team that desperately needs a 2nd line LW.

And thats where I advocate to keeping him because if all we are going to get is a mid 1st which we won't even know will make the NHL let alone get 50 points or a peak of 72 then why are we the ones taking all the risk? adding spare parts does nothing for us we have a bunch of those in our habs system and we will have even more with 14 draft picks this draft.

Yeah, I don't know, I'm not the one making threads about trading him or talking about how his poor performance is driving me to want to move him. Those are internal battles you and your fanbase (actually, your GM) will need to have.

All I can do is say what I would and what I wouldn't offer for him.

Why the hell would you trade that much for Nick Leddy? He's bad. Kulak and Petry is also a really good pairing...

That's some baller reflexes for an older guy.

That Gallagher deal is no-no. Moving Domi to Minny for Greenway and the 9th I would do, but the media/fans backlash would be immense after we were slated to have the 9th pick anyway before the playoffs happen, and now we are giving up Domi to get it. But Greenway is a nice piece indeed.

Mete for Leddy is meh. Mete's upside is Leddy, and yeah he hasnt been putting up points at all but I didn't hate his play in the playoffs. He is rounding out his game. He is a solid puck carrier and is very fast, defensively he is getting there, and he can make some decent passes. I would keep the younger, cheaper version in Mete. Leddy I would still make a play for, but not trading Mete for him. Maybe a 2nd.

So if we can get Leddy for a 2nd and Hoffman in free agency, I'd say that would be a good off-season. And I wouldnt mind Domi/16th vs Greenway/9th either. Some good ideas for Bergevin

The issue is that Domi is a good center and a bad winger. He played wing and got the expected result. Now, on the forum he is worth nothing...

So for the next couple of weeks well have Domi trades countered with Suzuki which make no sense, and death end madness continues...

Minnesota isn't trading the 9th overall pick or either of Brodin/ Dumba for Domi.

The offer from the OP is Domi/16th for Greenway/9th. None of you read the OP?

Wild still wouldn't do this. Wild getting the 9th overall pick, are keeping it or trying to trade up.

Not trade back. No chance wild take on domi & moves back out of top 10. That isn't happening.

Any GM refusing Domi + 16OA for 9 OA is dumb, and MB would not propose this. Even if you believe he is only a 50 pt 2nd line LW, that brings you more than 7 spots at the draft ;) I know MIN fans are fed up with Domi trade proposals for Brodin, but come on this trade is completely in your favour guys.
Always said I like Brodin a lot, I get why MIN fans want to keep him : so they can grow their army of 35+ year old player paid more than 7m (joking) ;)

Nah, hard pass on Domi for the 9th or Brodin or Dumba. We'll keep our assets, you keep the 50 point left wing that prefers playing center but got supplanted in the playoffs by two 20 year olds and is better on the wing but doesn't want to play there and also doesn't like the cold weather and will want to be paid like a 70 point center even though he's a 50 point winger.

I'll tell you what though, if y'all are really desperate to get rid of him, I'll do Greenway+'21 2nd for him.

Brodin is a UFA in less than a year, you are not getting Domi for him without a contact ext.
