WJC: Montreal and Toronto to Share WJC in 2015 & 2017

What is the attendance from those not from Canada expected to be like? Does anyone from the States or from Scandinavia/Europe plan on coming or know people who are planning it?

I'm coming from Slovakia for round robin. It will be my first WJC, so I'm pretty excited about that. Just need to obtain some tickets before then :)

We won't arrive until Jan 2nd, but my wife and I will be coming from Washington DC. We went to Malmo and had a fantastic time...really looking forward to the atmosphere at the ACC. Go USA! :handclap:

I recently went through some ticket prices for this event and I found them too expensive. I mean, talk about really milking it.

They had like a 13 game package for like 1700 bucks. Why can't just buy a single game ticket?

Something is very wrong when at the IIHF World Championships in Prague it costs $150 Canadian dollars for a day package of two games, which also is the most expensive games (Involving Czech) in the preliminaries with the seats being located in the lower bowl at a tournament where every game can have a close result.

And now we look at Canada's World Junior and here are the plans; $1746 / 19 games in Toronto and $1191 for 13 games in Montreal for the same seat locations in the lower bowl where Prague is averaging about $60.

No wonder NHL games are so boring to attend in terms of atmosphere. All the real Hockey fans in Canada never go to the actual games. Now instead of having youngsters there having a blast they'll turn this into a suit fest also.

Hope this tournament goes back to small Canadian towns, Toronto and Montreal are strictly NHL towns, and they're going to prove it with this tourney judging by the amount of seats remaining. Hope they give them out to youngsters if they're not sold, would at least create an atmosphere for the games not involving Canada.

Edmonton and Calgary did very well in 2010 (actually, they set a new attendance record). Toronto and Montreal are even bigger markets IMO, that could break the record again.

Any thoughts as to how difficult and expensive the quarterfinal tickets will be? I know it depends on the match up to some extent. I'd be looking to see the US game.

Thanks!

TONS of people (myself included) are already trying to sell thru kijiji.ca to try and avoid the 12% fee stubhub charges. most of them will meet you in the city to give you the tickets. I know a ton of people are going to say avoid avoid avoid due to jerk scammers but whats the harm at looking at the ads? If you don't feel comfortable then you just don't buy from there. I've seen some really good deals already as most people are just trying to offload at cost to get their $$$$ back.

Everybody will be trying to sell thru the ticket exchange that should be up next week (according to an email Hockey Canada sent to package holders on Friday)-you'll get a better deal/seats on most if not all non Canada games then the package holders. Unfortunately as previously mentioned by others in this post, they'll be trying to recoup that $$$ for the final round and Canada games.

What scares me is that the ticket exchange is thru ticket master which only the Toronto games were sold. Montreal tickets were sold thru the bell centre/evenko which doesn't even have an option to log onto an account thru the website. I'm trying to believe that Hockey Canada would not be stupid enough to not allow Montreal package holders the same option to offload excess tickets as Toronto holders. If it is the case, it's really going to impact sales for 2017.

Calgary and Edmonton are also NHL towns that hosted the World Juniors and they did very well, so don't be so quick to judge Toronto and Montreal.

Also like I previously posted for the 2004 World Cup Of Hockey since it's the only recent example, the Russia-Slovakia Round Robin game played at the Air Canada Centre was sold out. In fact I was even offered free tickets to that game, however I didn't go because I went the night before for the Canada-Russia game.

Me and a few buddies are looking into going, but with the way everything works out we can only attend the New Year's Eve, Canada vs USA game.. Would anyone want to purchase 3-4 seats for the other games? Or know anyone who does? We want to go, but just can't spend all that money on one game. We'd just be looking to get our money back from the other tickets!

If anyone knows anyone, or wants them please message me!

Anyone has the link to buy individual tickets in Montréal????

Should be available today

I was hoping to purchase some single game tickets when they go on sale in Toronto, but after seeing the prices for Montreal, I'm afraid I might be priced out.

I hope ticket sales pick up but heavily doubt it, the amount of seats remaining for all games including Canada games in Montreal is baffling.

Not surprised, because number 1) YOU DON'T CHARGE NHL PRICES FOR KIDS PLAYING HOCKEY.

Idiots.

Hope it backfires on them, and people talk about it when Canada vs. USA on New Years Eve will be played to thousands of empty seats.

This has the potential to be embarrassment in Montreal. Oh boy.

No kidding. Hockey Canada should be ashamed of themselves, Canadians are crazy they actually pay this much to watch Hockey. The NHL prices are insane, but this takes it to another level to watch 17-18-19 year olds play Hockey. Wow, an embarassment. Probably cheaper for you guys to fly to Europe and catch all the games , no wonder so many people come abroad for this tourney, it's better off paying almost half the price than attending in Canada.

$200 a ticket in the lower bowl for Canada vs. USA, and no not for 2, but a single seat, and those are the cheap ones :S

For those who want a visual of all the empty seats in the lower bowl so far. The only seats taken are the ones given to the ''special'' people.

Yeah, I'm not one who generally complains about ticket prices, since I believe the team has the right to charge as much as the consumer is willing to pay, but clearly in this case the consumer is not willing to pay for these ridiculous prices charged by Hockey Canada, and for good reason. The most expensive tickets are basically the prices for tickets for an NHL game in Toronto or Montreal, anyone with a basic understanding of economics should understand the demand for those tickets are not the same as the demand of a Canadiens or Leafs ticket...

Take it easy....plenty of time here. Tickets are gonna be sold without a problem imo. We will see.

Can anyone who purchased a Toronto Package in either the Platinum Side+End, Gold Side or Gold End sections list the actual price on their tickets for each of the games in the Preliminary Round? It would be much appreciated since I could use this as a makeshift guide to securing "fair" value tickets whether it be on StubHub or the Ticket Exchange via Ticketmaster. Thanks in advance.

For your assistance, I have setup a template (below) whereby you can quote (or copy and paste), and then simply fill in the numeric value of ticket.
