Doubt anything will happen, but the Habs could use an upgrade for their third line C (not sure if Dallas/Colorado has anyone available capable of that).

He was in Colorado with Molson - Coors/Molson is based where?

By this logic, Molson takes his brewmaster to NHL Board of Governor's meetings and the draft.

I assume people with enough money to own NHL teams do not insist the person they hire to run those teams accompany them to unrelated business functions during the season.

A month ago yes but due to injuries(Eakin, Janmark) there's no way Dallas has one to spare now

Are you seriouse? Avs fans would do it? I think MTL fans would do that deal yesterday. DD is the most hated hab maybe ever.

AVS fans would say yes to Iggy for DD even without the 2nd pick.

Alexei Emelin to Col/Dal?

Montreal fans, who needs to be protected for dmen?

Obviously Weber, Petry you want to protect... I'm guessing Markov also has a NTC, but does Emelin have a NTC? If they all have NTC then it could explain them trying to trade Beaulieu ibstead of losing him ..

I'm thinking the same thing about Emelin. Both Col and Dal could probably use D, no? Perhaps Emelin doesn't sound like the guy but I think there are GMs around the league that like his physicality. Could see him moved for another depth D like Gelinas.

Markov is UFA this year. And I believe only guys with NMC need to be protected. So for Montreal we're looking at Weber, Beaulieu, Petry.

Montreal
Montreal gets: Eric Gelinas ($1.575M cap hit), 2nd round pick
Colorado gets: Nathan Beaulieu ($1M cap hit)

Beaulieu isnt going anywhere, he looks great on our top pair so far. Due to his emergence we can hold off on looking for an LHD.. and Sergachev will most likely replace Markov next season (in our top 4).

Our main need is a 2C, Hanzal is the guy we should be targeting. Don't think Dallas or Colorado have any expendable 2C's.

Beaulieu is having a pretty solid start to the season and was dominant in preseason. He plays with more physicality and seems to understand how to balance offense and stable defense.

He is actually doing pretty good with weber right now.

When you look at Beaulieu, you see a mid 1st round pick that showed a slow but constant progression in his game. The guy is a quick smooth skater who is becoming a complete D. I'm starting to see him as a more offensive Petry. Which may slot him as no.2-3 D, which is what we need right now on the left side.

Only 23 years old. Earning 1M$. And still progressing.

It may change during the season but right now, Beaulieu is untoucheable on D.

Exactly this.

I could see Hanzal playing on our 2nd line next year. Bumping down Plekanec on our 3rd line for his final year (hopefully) with the Habs.

Then the next year you could use a younger guy (Hudon or McCarron) as our 3 line center, or even Shaw.

We have a 2C, Plekanec. Hanzal is a lateral move at best, he has never been close to Plekanec's production and the advantage in size isn't enough to offset that.

The Avs are actually getting a bit crowded on the blue line and thin on the wings. So while the "Avs trade offense for defense" theme has had merit in the past, it doesn't much anymore.

Honestly, this early in the season, I have no idea what they'd be discussing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Avs moved a contract for Andrighetto, but that's hardly worth the trip. He did get to see an exiting game though.
