How about something along the lines of:

Montreal:

Emelin
Andrighetto
2017 1st

Dallas:

Patrick Sharp

Perspectives:

Montreal gets a solid proven left winger in patrick sharp. Bergevin also has a thing for current or ex hawks players. He's also an awaiting free agent in the summer.

Dallas gets a defender that can slot in on their 2nd or third pairing, a decent prospect capable of 25-40 and a 1st to add to their weaker prospect pool

No thanks, Sharp play like a 3rd liner making 5.9M while Emelin is a solid number 5 defenceman overpaid at 4M + we give a 1st.

Easy decline.

55 points is a little more than I expect from a 3rd liner

First thought was Roussel. Would the Stars want to part with him?

No , especially not right now with all the injuries. Not to mention he's one of the few somewhat expendable forwards that fullfils the "signed for 17/18 with 40/70 games " rule on the team for the expansion draft . Don't have too many of those.

While I don't that think the deal works for a couple reasons, Sharp is far from a 3rd liner. A 55 point winger would be one of you top scorers last year would it not?

Sure he's getting up there but he can still play

Yeah, Sharp being a third liner is craziness to me. Plus there's word he rejected a trade to Montreal.

Nathan Beaulieu for Nikita Zadorov in the rumors. (don't believing them but curious to see what Avs think about it).

Why would the Habs do that though ? Beaulieu is ahead of Zadorov in his development and if anything the Habs need an experienced PMD LD to pair with Weber , not a rookie who is even more green than Beaulieu.

Not saying that Zadorov won't be good but the whole point of trading Beaulieu would be to acquire a guy who play the same position but who has more experience , is more offensive and is a little bit more steady in the D zone to pair with Weber. Zadorov does not fit that bill , at least not now.

Habs should just keep Beaulieu if that's the case.

Think it's incredibly stupid.

Almost as dumb as suggesting the Preds would be interested in trading Subban for Shea Weber.

Avs just acquired Zadorov and are giving him his first full season in an Avalanche uniform. They're super high on him and understandably so. It would take a lot more than NB to get the Avs remotely interested.

I just read a few other articles on that site, and I feel immensely dumber for it. Let's not entertain stuff like that, it looks like a rag.

lol NB >> Zadarov
Why would the habs ever do this trade?
NB is a proven top 4 playing top 2 minutes now alongside Weber. One is +6, the other -1. But no Habs would be dumb not to trade Zadorov for NB.

You know you have a great argument when you're using +/-. How can anyone possibly argue with that logic.

Beaulieu is 23 and Zadorov is 21.

I'll keep the guy who was the main piece in the ROR deal.

You keep your party-boy.

Everybody wins.

Bealieu playing on the FIRST pairing playing an average of 20 minutes while Z is playing ana average of 15 minutes on a team with far worse defenders.... Says enough

The avs got skrewed over no matter which way you look at it. Would u keep the main piece from the Spezza trade over Z?? Chiasson? Idc what the main piece is, if thats what ur clinging on to then idk what to say, look at the player instead.

He's been up and down the lineup and has played incredibly well with EJ on the top pairing...

Far worse defenders? You must believe Weber is a top 10 d man still.

There's not one player on your defense I'd take over EJ, Barrie, or Zadorov right now.

I don't see what any bad deals that Ottawa have made in the past have anything to do with Zadorov or the Avs. Zadorov is coming along very nicely and I doubt very much that you've even seen him play. Is he young? Yes. Is he going to make mistakes? Yes. Probably no more than the rookie mistakes that Beaulieu was making when he was playing 15:41 on average per night as a 21 year old...so get off your high horse.

Everyone knew ROR wasn't going to stick around. Avs got an amazing haul for him. Avs fans were told repeatedly that they wouldn't get anything more than Grigorenko and a 2nd for ROR. We were told repeatedly that Zadorov was an untouchable player.

Now that the Avs got a great haul, we are told that we got "skrewed" (it's screwed btw). Plain and simple, Z is a perfect piece the Avs have needed for a long time. He has sky high potential and the Avs are absolutely handling him the right way as he is only 21.

To suggest he's a bust is completely misinformed. You've proven time and time again you know nothing about the Avs. It's quite hilarious.
