Yeah, the chances of that conditional pick materializing are slim to none.so sean for a #1 is all
Still, 2 firsts for Monahan is impressive asset management.

Probably since they didn't ant to trade them?Nothing spectacular, why can't he make a deal for one of their great prospects, even if it means moving more pieces? we are just stranded in mediocrity and sus drafting at this point, and we won't have Monohan. Confusing.
Hughes has traded them every draft (Dach/Newhook). Pretty safe to assume we will see same.
The Jets are winning the cup?I mean, it's gonna be pick 32... Not exactly exciting.
Lindholm's value >>>>>>> Monahan's valuebrutal
Van gives up so much and Kent gets a 1st. wow Kent
With no condition attached to the first. And no retention. That was the minimum price, and it was met.Looks like Hughes went with the first team who accepted to give up a 1st.
This is exactly what came to my mind, we’ve gotten extra 1st rounders for Toffoli, Chiarot, and Monahan x 2. That never happened with MBBergevin : Never acquired a 1st in all of his tenure.
Kent Hughes : Acquire Sean Monahan and receives a 1st, then trade Sean Monahan for a 1st.
How are Dach and Newhook doing recently?
It is for sure.. but Kent is so picks concerned..Yeah, the chances of that conditional pick materializing are slim to none.

I mean, Lindholm is a better player, and more reliable than Monahan. Monahan is having a great season, but there's nothing saying his leg won't fall off getting off the plane in Manitoba.brutal

Except this management has so far drafted 3 in the first round and non are in the ahlWe're going to be in a rebuild forever because we keep drafting future AHLers in the first round.
So I don't care about picks.
i guess you can't please everyoneNothing spectacular, why can't he make a deal for one of their great prospects, even if it means moving more pieces? we are just stranded in mediocrity and sus drafting at this point, and we won't have Monohan. Confusing.

Hughes has acquired two first rounders who he then used to flip for a very good young player at the draft. I wouldn't be shocked if he does something similar here.
I think Hughes took the 1st because he didn't want to risk Monahan getting injured if he waited to try to get more.It is for sure.. but Kent is so picks concerned..
he should have waited, then and gambled other getting a 32 round pick
Will it take a 1st to get Kakko? This pick will be included in a package for Kakko at the draft
i guess you can't please everyone
What did you expect? We were never getting any top prospects from any teams for Monahan despite whatever anyone here might have believed. Getting another 1st to use as an asset for a big fish is good business.I mean, it's gonna be pick 32... Not exactly exciting.
