Barron looked like dogshit?

I think alot of fans just don't like him and unless he scores a goal, it doesn't matter if he has a good game (like tonight for example) then its just about confirming a bias.

If Barron was dogshit tonight, not sure what Savard or Xhekaj were by comparison.
Yeah they sucked too. Not sure what you’re trying to prove. But at least Xhekaj has a purpose. Barron is just a far shittier Mailloux. Savard is a vet that had a bad game. Barron is lost everytime he’s on the ice.

I honestly can't put much blame on Hutson for the goals. First one he was behind the net with 2 Pens and Savard was late to pick up his man. On the 2nd and 3rd goals he was left out to dry - you got to cover a dman who's pinching, that's on the forwards. Last one is an ENG.

All of our D was dogshit, but Guhle and Hutson made the best offensive plays and the least mistakes defensively (even despite Hutson's minus rating), so I'd place them in a different tier than the other 4.

He’s giving away the puck when he’s last man back. All. The. Time. He can’t do that.
It happened ONCE and it was a miscommunication with his D partner and the forward (think it was Slaf).

He otherwise jumped in the rush when he had the opportunity, he was physical, completed all his clears (which is something he has historically struggled with).

People just don't like him for some reason.

Too much turkey for the boys!

MSL (or Hughes more likely) will have to do something with the D. You can't have the vets play like this when the team is carrying 3 Ds with less than 100 NHL games played and the 4th one (who's the best D) haven't even hit 150 yet.

Sound technical game from Pittsburgh for the first 15 minutes.

Then it became a slopfest both ways, but somebody had to win.

On the plus side, I thought the prime presentation was very good. Commentary was good too. I never heard of hickey doing commentary before but he seems like a good one. Forslund was good as always. Petrillo is good at her role too.

The ticker was messed up sometimes but that's fixable.

And were the goals his fault. The first one was Anderson's fault.
The first one he couldn't decide whether to press the puck carrier or stay in the middle of the ice. He did neither.

You guys keep raving about this kid but the D-man that is our future #1 is Guhle. I would trade 5 Hutsons for 1 more Guhle. Hutson right now is a PP specialist and his defensive work leaves a lot to be desired.

I’m fine if he’s in the lineup. RHD. Decent skater. Good size. But someone needs to tell him to focus and not always f*** up with his stick. He absolutely needs to fix that. He’ll always be unpopular and hated if he doesn’t.

2 Dmen were sheltered all night…Barron wasn't one of them.

I don't personally grade player’s on a popularity scale.
Barren f***ed up so many simple plays, missing easy pucks to keep the pressure in the offensive zone, and many, MANY, giveaways in his own zone, not to mention dumb 0IQ passes to his defensive partner (oh and also, trying to cross-over THROUGH his defensive partner as well)

The play that sums Barron really well, its the one in the third period, tie game, has the puck in our zone, fumbles the pass to the pens player alone in front of the net and mounty has to bail him. God damn.

Yeah the reason is these gaffes happen every game. He provides no offence for a guy that’s supposed to, and he’s not particularly good defensively. Looking forward to Struble coming back, at least he does things and isn’t physical once in a blue moon.

That I disagree with your take.

Again, I don't grade players based in if I like them or not.

Its cool that Xhekaj has a purpose, but he's terrible in his own zone and if find it odd the focus is always on Barron and a guy like Xhekaj whose been shit in every game, gets a pass because people think he's cool.

Yea, Barren is 7th D on this roster only due to him having to go through waivers.
