The one issue I have w Yankees fans is they always want to pluck everyones best player with these “packages” or whatever. Seem entitled or whatever

I have no doubt it happens but I've never seen that proposed in here.

We just don't want to package Torres for a less valuable player than Torres, which pretty much applies to every pitcher currently on the block.

It is the big team inferiority complex. It's why we've seen Justin Morneau win an MVP over Jeter, Matt Kemp robbed of MVP, Judge robbed of MVP and the collusion from all these teams. Some of these teams are more content with nuking their own as well as the Yankees as opposed to improving their own clubs.

Morneau wasn't even the best player on his team. Grady Sizemore should've won it.

Two good things about an otherwise unremarkable Vargas trade: they made a trade with a rival, and they are money in the deal--and real money, $2.9M. Neither of those are things the Mets ever do.

Yup and everyone first reported was that the Mets were "saving money" on the deal. Such BS. Just because they aren't paying his whole contract didn't mean they saved money.

Don't remember when Stroman was traded and the Blue Jays sent some money over, not the full contract either, that the Blue Jays were "saving money" on the trade.

Both teams sent money to cover some of the contract for this season. It's insane that reporters put out shit and then they crawl back on those statements and say, "oh yeah, the Mets are covering half his remaining deal"

trade a SP to a Division rival in a Wild Card race for cash lol

Losers
They didn't trade him for cash. They included cash in the deal. Yeah, they end up saving some money, but who cares? The fact that they were willing to do business with a rival is a good development. In the past they'd ignore potentially better offers from rivals, which is not a good way to operate.

For every ridiculous move the Mets make there is always a small percentage of the fan base which defends the stupidity and I always remind them that they deserve this team and ownership.

This is a pretty stupid comment considering how critical I have been of this team and the ownership over the years. But, that's not surprising given what I've seen from you.

My type of fan deserves more while the only hyperbole against me was wondering if Kreider would return little after so many windfalls. Try to follow along and understand not everybody is a cheerleader. That Mets move was ridiculous and not worthy of applause b/c the move was simply different. Good lord

I said the move was unremarkable. I noted that beyond that, there were two encouraging things about the deal. I didn't say the deal was worthy of applause or even good. Try to follow along--you seem to struggle more than the dolt in your avatar.

The dolt in my avatar would hang up on you. It’s good development to deal with a rival (regardless of how ridiculous it is to trade a SP to a division rival you compete with for the wildcard for cash). My bar is a bit higher

Okay.

Yeah you knew Vargas was gone after the incident with the reporter. Mets front office was very angry about that.

Philly reporters better watch out.

Baseball money is funny. Vargas and his 85 MPH fastball makes as much as Lundqvist.

Lol Yankees fans are “complainers” because they are talking about what is pretty much proven fact at this point.

When Toronto asks for Garcia as the piece that has to come back for Stroman, and then goes and accepts that less the market value offer from the Mets it only validates what Yankees fans are frustrated about.

Kay was great in AA. So was Garcia who is 4 years younger. Yankees system is better and yet it was Garcia or bust for Stroman.

But hey Yankees fans are just “complainers”...

MLB revenue is a lot higher it’s all relative. And If the nhl had no cap theyd pay crappy players more too

To be fair, when it's a division rival, I wouldn't call it a "Yankees tax" as in something that's particular to the Yankees.

The Pirates definitely did it and I won't speculate as to why. I'd be interested to see if there are other non-division examples.
