If he could, don't you think he would.....?
pretty sure he meant for the rangers

Does this idea come from CF being a more important position, or because of his struggles at SS this year?Rosario needs to go play winter ball in Mexico or somewhere and try CF. If he could be even average there it would be huge.

Wasn't Rosario touted as a five tool prospect? I feel like his bad defense came out of nowhere.
the mets schedule after this series is brutal...aside from a 3 game series with the royals, 30 of the next 33 after this series are against braves, nats, phillies, indians, dodgers, dbacks, and cubs...so you'll find out in a hurry if this recent run is legit.
a non-mets fan would look at that and say 'they can control their own fate by beating the teams ahead of them for the wild card'
a mets fan would look at that and say 'LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL'
Kind of wish I could find a site that breaks down DRS by month. His April was atrocious. He has been better in the field since those error filled games early.
If anyone has a site that does that, I'd love to see it. It doesn't tell you the entire story, but it could be something tangible that says he has improved. Now, going from a -5 to a -2 is still bad, but anything closer to average could keep him there.
It feels strange to take a 23 year old that's struggling with his tough infield position and put him in a tough outfield position, but didn't realize the organizational stuff which makes sense. The Mets IF defense is atrocious. Rosario has been part of that. Yet, he has good speed and a good arm. If he has the instincts for CF, he's more valuable there than SS.
As far as what you do with SS if you move him off, finding an all-glove SS isn't hard and would really help the staff. It would be a stopgap until Gimenez or Mauricio make it.
There is no long-term answer to CF in the organization. It's worth a shot with Rosario.
Diaz is an absolute adventure whether he gives up runs or not.
In any case............. we back at .500!
I've read it dating back to last season on a number of different blogs, but I can't recall anyone with the organization actually suggesting it or acknowledging it was being considered.also has anyone with the team mentioned moving rosario or is this just fans talking like how we have people trying to move every rangers prospect to center?
I wouldn't move him anywhere mid-season. I mentioned earlier I'd like him to try it in winter ball and then in ST if it goes well. I have no idea if he can handle it, and definitely don't want to experiment during meaningful games. It feels strange to take a 23 year old that's struggling with his tough infield position and put him in a tough outfield position, but didn't realize the organizational stuff which makes sense.
Torn hammy for Cano.
