I wish it was that easy but it’ll never happen.

It kinda did happen to George and he complained that it was because nobody wanted to go to the Bronx for a game, threatened to move the team to Jersey...yadda yadda. The team from the mid 80s to early 90s lost that mystique and fans weren't coming out in droves. Two vids: one from '87 and one from '95. Look at all the empty seats which was typical back then.

I think they make a lot more from TV rights and licensing than they do from tickets.

article in the athletic today about the attractiveness of the Mets GM/President job.

Reactions: NYR94
Every other team is winning with home runs.

I'm not a fan of bringing Boone back, but the overreactions here are silly.

Both Syndergaard and Conforto given the QO. Smart on both counts. I assume Conforto will walk and we'll get the pick after the Competitive B round and Syndergaard will sign and possibly extend. Either way, we'll have the opportunity to get something for both players, which is nice.

Yankee stadium attendance didn't peak until A Rod came, 4 years removed from the championship days. They saw a 310k fan jump from 03 to 04 (A Rod's first year). It peaked in the 3 years about 4.3 Million fans 2006, 2007, 2008 (last at Yankee Stadium II).

They haven't sniffed 4 Million since moving to the House next to the House that Ruth built, IDK if it's even possible to draw that many with its lower capacity.
