Torres is not a ss,he is a 2nd baseman.I wish these brainiacs would see that.

The Yanks keeping Kriske and Nelson on the 40 man over Whitlock was certainly a strategy this past winter.

So the mystery ailment was a partial UCL tear for DeGrom, known in Mets Land as "inflammation" and "soreness". Alderson says it has resolved itself.

Its astounding that Marcus Thames has kept his job for this long. So many players have regressed during his tenure as the Hitting Coach. Even if you are one who doesn’t believe the Hitting Coach has an affect on your lineup (which is complete BS) something has to change. This the definition of insanity. Insanity.

This organization is poisoned top to bottom really. Steinbrenner should go, its time. But it will never happen. But at the bare minimum Cashman and the entire coaching staff must go.

keep him shut down and cross your fingers for next spring. Otherwise, he’s done (unless the Mets wait for TJS again)

Cashman has turned the Yankees into just another franchise. The mystique is gone.

Diaz is this generations version of Armando Benitez. Maddingly frustrating to watch.

He's a goner after this year. Mets have to cut him loose while Kelenec has the first of many .300 20-20 seasons....ugh!

its not like kelenic has been lighting it up. He has been a strikeout machine and is batting sub-200.

Not that i think this was a good trade. I dont. I hated it then, and hate it still. But maybe Kelenic will flop too so i wont feel bad.

and diaz has been pretty good for us.

When every top player came to the Yanks to get PAID the Yanks brass started feeling themselves and it became easy. Even when they weren't winning the WS they were right there or close, and breezing through the regular season. Not the case anymore.

There might only be one winner in that Trade, Robinson Cano, unless someone spikes his koolaid with HGH.

I've been calling him Armando Jr. for some time now....some thought I was nuts. I'd be happy with him and Little Armando (Familia) far far away.

I’d have to look, but I suspect Diaz’s performance is line with most closers around the league. Not that I don’t think the Mets should strive to have an above average pen, but I wonder if having Mariano Rivera on the front page of the sports section for 15 years has warped New Yorkers expectations.

That would be interesting....would also like to know how many closers make things worse for themselves. Diaz and Familia have a history of fanning the fires before putting them out (if they do put them out).

I think Dias is on the low side in SV% but at least for this year I think this is to your point.

MLB Baseball Best Closers of 2021 - Major League Baseball - ESPN

The problem is that we have 2019-2021 Diaz and not 2017-2018 Diaz. If the Mets had 2017-2018 Diaz the trade would look a lot better than it does now.

The Jays have the most potent lineup in baseball and it isnt even close. If they get into the playoffs, they will be serious trouble against anyone

They should host the wildcard game, 6 left with Tampa, but they will beat up there other games left, great offense and real solid to good starting pitching.

Yanks hopefully miss so they have no excuse to clean house, they are going no where.

Anyone else think Rojas will seal his fate this weekend against the Prison Stripes?
